Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 21hI'm glad I have at least a few projects I managed to publish before vibecoding became a thing. Purely for ego reasons. Nowadays anything technically impressive in software will be attributed to AI, independently of human effort applied. Plus I can annoy my grandkids with "back in my day" etc stories 060
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 02/10/2026Makes sense yeah. I'm too scared to ever attempt that, I'm too prone to scope creep. I sometimes like forcing myself to work within the limitations of the engine, making my own engine is like "the sky is the limit!" which to me would likely mean "never get anything done ever again!". 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 02/10/2026Why has no one thought of making a game engine with no bugs from the start? Genius 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 02/10/2026Worth investing some time in custom editor-time validation, or existing solutions like dependency injection. The "forgot to assign thing" errors could be a thing of the past! Although doing this for built-in scripts can be a pain. Never understood why this isn't more of a first class feature. 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 02/10/2026Glad you liked it! Artumino actually got a Steam Frame and even tried running it standalone (runs terrible of course). So maybe we'll get an update to have better bindings for Steam Frame soon. 120
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 24/09/2026Agreed. Another (non-social) way I've seen games approach this is by including the "cheats" as an in-game feature. The first time I remember noticing this was in Machinarium, how it lets you "buy" hints to the puzzles (I forget how exactly you could do this). 021
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 19/09/2026I did kinda get the impression this was already happening though, but hard to tell. 100
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 19/09/2026True, it could be made to feel like the lumps are due to density fluctuations in the terrain, if it's a stable function of position such as that if you quickly go back to that same space you get the same lumps. 120
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 18/09/2026I agree with the sentiment. I'm not even into Kojima's games, but a more charitable view of this is that Kojima is a Hollywood fanboy that happens to have the means to do stuff like this. If I had unlimited resources I'd probably do some cringe fanboyish things with my projects too. 101
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 16/09/2026Maybe if the preview tunnel closed more gradually, so it leaves a trail behind as you aim away? It's interesting how all that comes to mind is about making it slower. Usually we need to adapt the design around technical constraints, this is more like adapting the design around technical uh luxuries 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 16/09/2026Very cool. Maybe having the tunnel ray lag a tiny bit behind the mouse cursor would give it some weight, to make it feel more real and less like a thing that's just attached to the screen? But then again maybe that would take away from how impressive it is that you do this with no discernible delay. 120
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 10/09/2026haven't finished it yet but i can say Big Walk is my favorite coop game of all time. I used to say that about The Forest, a jank game made amazing with the right friends. But Big Walk is a well made, well designed game, made perfect with the right friends. 060
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 10/09/2026Oh god the first screenshot on their website looks so cluttered lol. Here's how it looks like on a normal day for me. I migrated from vscode to this a few months ago, haven't installed vscode again since. 010
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 10/09/2026You should also try zed.dev. Very natural transfer over from vscode, and has a single toggle to disable all things AI, plus one more setting for disabling the "sign in" button if that bothers you. Their marketing mentions AI a lot, like all editors seem to, but that wasn't always their focus. 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 09/09/2026the most surprising thing about this is that they're actually using the established term "foldable" instead of saying it's their own original geometrically adaptive display or whatever 050
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 07/09/2026That happened a lot when I tried to keep a dream journal (shit made no sense because I wrote it while half asleep, didn't help me remember any dreams). But at 11:50 I'm guessing not that. 110
Reposted by RaicupartaCyriak @cyriak.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I made a new youtube video starring this happy little guy. You can follow his silly adventures here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrXo... 19384123
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 26/08/2026Now that I reread your "traditional puzzle solving" bit maybe that would exclude it, but also maybe not. I wouldn't exactly call it traditional puzzle solving, but it's still mostly isolated puzzles. But a lot of the game is about planning stuff with your friends and then following those plans. 010
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 26/08/2026Big Walk. What you're describing is basically what the entire game is about. 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 21/08/2026wife made me a magnet to hide the chipped paint on my pc tower ❤️ 070

Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 10/08/2026My first time doing anything related to level design was messing around with the editor for Knytt Stories, which was the sequel to Knytt. Every once in a while I replay the original Knytt. Looking forward to replaying it again soon! 060
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 05/08/2026And from how the other person responded to me I guess my messages seemed dismissive, but that wasn't my intention. 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 05/08/2026Totally understandable. I've had my fair share of fighting Linux, and my reasons for finally doing the full swap a couple years ago were basically the same as yours. Although my pains are usually related to Nvidia drivers (which people like to pretend are perfect now, but they aren't). 010
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 05/08/2026All I meant was if you're gonna try installing an alternative OS, be ready to tinker. Your answer seems a bit aggressive so I guess my comment came off the wrong way? Was not my intention. 000
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 05/08/2026That all does sound weird. I still wouldn't completely rule out driver or hardware failure since that stuff often manifests in weird ways. Also, I saw someone recommend Bazzite here, that's an example of an immutable distro. Immutable distros are good for "installing a thing shouldn't break the DE". 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 04/08/2026Your potato laptop was made for Windows. If you want a Linux that "just works", buy a laptop that's made with it in mind. If you want your (probably uncommon) laptop to work well with Linux, you'll likely have to tinker here and there. 200
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 02/08/2026Then there's the opposite, which Apple does constantly, which is doing something with an established term and giving it a new name, and refusing to acknowledge the existing terms. Their "spatial" bs with the Vision Pro was funny, with them going above and beyond to avoid saying "VR" or "headset". 020
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 02/08/2026it's a bit funny (sad) how these tech booms seem to steal / dilute well-established terms. Like how cryptocurrencies ruined "crypto". 230
Reposted by RaicupartaOuter Wilds Modding @outerwildsmods.com · 01/08/2026The themes for the 6th mod jam are Past and Future! The restriction is Time Loop! To follow the restriction you must use the time loop as a mechanic in your mod in some way. Will you have time-specific events, puzzles that take place over multiple loops, or some other third thing? That's up to you! 1105
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 28/07/2026Very impressive. How feasible do you think it would be to slop up a web version of this? Asking since I saw Photopea in the comparison table, and it being a web app is actually a nice bonus for me. 200

Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 26/07/2026Oh and the sound design! Both Tangle Tower and Mermaid Mask do it so well. One of those things you don't usually notice, but can completely change how a game like this feels. 010
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 26/07/2026Play The Mermaid Mask! And the other Detective Grimoire games too! Not really a deduction game, more like reading a book and getting a pop quiz at the end of every chapter. The writing and voice acting are great, and all the characters are super charming. 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 16/07/2026After going through the horrors of publishing on Sony, I have so much sympathy for this. Congrats on the launch! 120
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 08/07/2026Especially since in Trombone Champ the backing tracks dont have a "correct" trombone part, you just hear what you play. 140
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 08/07/2026Only somewhat related but I love music games that can kinda become an instrument on their own, rather than just playing along and pretending to play one. Trombone Champ did this really well with its continuous input, as opposed to something like Guitar Hero. 130
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 08/07/2026Very interesting. I wonder if the immersive sim tag is accurate (it usually isn't). Definitely trying this. 010
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 04/07/2026Stop Killing Games (www.stopkillinggames.com) has been fighting for your point 9 for years now. It's been hard, but making progress. But shows how difficult this will all continue to be. 010
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 30/06/2026Me waiting for someone to chart Flower Man for Trombone Champ so I can finally have an excuse to boot up VR again 030
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 26/06/2026see, Microsoft had your best interests when they introduced the feature that spies on you by recording your screen 24/7! 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 24/06/2026"cannot reach them in any way except modding the game" sounds like a challenge 240
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 15/06/2026Just watched Beyond The Infinite Two Minutes because of this thread, very cool. Thanks! 030
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 12/06/2026lazy tech artist slapping a sine wave on the shader and calling it a day 060
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 12/06/2026primitive technology guy has finally succumbed to the red arrow thumbnail. the internet is officially over 040
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 09/06/2026Looks amazing. If you need extra inspiration, Sons of The Forest did a really good job at this with the hang glider. Flying felt great, and taking off required sufficient height (although with a little skill that could be greatly reduced). 110
Raicuparta @raicuparta.com · 06/06/2026I will believe you and continue to not watch any trailers! Wanna go in fresh. 110
