Valid point. We made the mistake of trying to do both at the same time. Realized too late that this only works one way or the other. Mixing strategies rarely works.

Both go hand in hand, don't they? With marketplaces, monetizing too early kills the fantasy. In early stages the value is too small to generate significant revenue. Some investors are turned off by bad early unit economics. In those cases it is better to talk about growth rather than revenue.

In some business models it makes sense to not charge customers yet and let the investor's fantasy take over. Marketplaces or anything with network effects are examples of this. Not charging allows you to grow much faster. The business might never work, but for pure funding reasons it can help.

I don't know if they underestimated the importance of software or if they were just incapable of crating great software. They hired thousands of developers in CARIAD, but they are so stuck in corporate thinking that the result was underwhelming.

I really struggle to see the rational argument for combustion engines past 2035 when they are already the economical better choice. And sovereignity, too. Even if you don't give a shot about the environment, you should be a fan of EVs

“I believe we should tax AI tokens and robots. Right now, if you’re an employer and you hire someone, you pay payroll taxes on their earnings. But if you buy a robot, you can usually write it off right away as a business expense. The tax system nudges you toward replacing people with machines.”

AI does sometimes produce garbage. Yes. It helps if you know software architecture. But to be fair, I had developers produce shitty code as well. I wouldn't let AI design the software for a helicopter. But a marketing website or basic software. Sure.

Basically, the same problem. You are asking to evaluate a sprinter converted to a cyclist on how good he is at sprinting after not sprinting for 2 years. My guess, he will be a better cyclist, but worse at sprinting. But he has a bike now. Why would he run?

Raffael Schulz @raffaeltfs.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
Just because a dev is skilled as a coder doesn't mean they are skilled at coding with AI. The best sprinter is not automatically the best cyclist. Yeah, both try to move forward, but taking the technique from one while trying to do what the other does might not yield good results.

If Russia produces 100 missiles a month, doesn't that mean, we need at least 200 a month to defend. Assuming we would always have them deployed exactly where they would fire them? How many can actually be produced per month?

Agreed, but on the other hand, without the log scale, anything in recent years would not be visible. The fact that the graph needs this scale speaks for itself. 99% can hear that though.

On the AI for coding skepticism, most AI critical devs I know tested it a year ago and only for a bit. They made up their mind that it is not working and never will. They completely missed that a) you need to learn HOW to code with AI and B) the tools have improved significantly in the last 8 months

It is frustrating, how so many people can't see past their political affiliation anymore. Anything goes wrong, then it must be the other side's fault. And whatever they are known for is at fault for everything. And if you compromise, then you are weak and "don't stand for anything".

Gemini 3.7 Flash is highlighted in blue near the top-right "most efficient" region at approximately 65% accuracy for around $2 per task, showcasing a highlighted trajectory of performance and cost efficiency gains from Gemini 3.5 Flash and 3.6 Flash compared to models from Claude, GPT, and other providers.
