I wish I had more time to read a book the rest of the year. I have a yard now. Once Covid happened I’ve focused on building a garden for growing vegetables. This year I am learning to can. It’s been a lot of work. But eventually I can read outside cause everything is done. Maybe in two years.

I do love reading in bed. By the end of the day I’m too tired. I can’t make it past five pages. But when there is a storm out, I can’t go to work (safely), and it’s cold. I’ll be in bed all day with a book. Reading in a hot bath is awesome too.

My reading time is the winter. I picked up Party Like a President by Brian Abrams. I’m waiting for the snow now. And I have a couple of books that I want to re-read since the first time. I’m curious if they are more relevant now. One of them I got a new highlighter for.

Oh god no! Please don’t. The only Xmas songs I like are Pretty Paper or Blue Christmas. And I just listen to grandma’s Liberace records for like 8 hours on Xmas as I mix brandy old fashioneds. Cement Mixer is my jam on Xmas day.

That depends upon the definition of “nation”. If the definition is of a territory with government and a military then the earliest of that definition would be Iran. But “nation” can also mean a community that is bonded by its language, faith and culture without established territory.

We are a global economy. Our industrial success is determinate on other countries. Many of the things we need to make product here don’t come from here. Coffee, bananas and olive oil don’t come from the states. Not all rare earth minerals are here. The tariffs are part of the grift.

It really is. I remember when they busted up Ma Bell. And then watched other phone companies consolidate other companies. I got US Cellular because I loved how consistent they were for the area I live in. T-mobile gobbled it up and now my service isn’t as good. I want Anti-trust laws enforced again.
