Favorite Modern: Tekken 8. Best fighter on the market. Favorite Retro: Daytona USA. Timeless. Will never be replicated again. Overrated: Ducktales. Too high a pedestal compared to its NES contemporaries. Game I dislike: Call of Duty. It became the face of the FPS, to the detriment of video games.

I cannot control my excitement for this game now that fingers are on D-Pad and buttons. By about 20 minutes into training mode, I was doing things like this. High damage, and that’s not even taking into account things like Assemble adding 16k to the equation or assists that would probably scale dmg.

What Sonic means to me is getting home from school at 3:30 every day in 1993 to watch the cartoon. It's sticking different Genesis games into the Sonic & Knuckles lock-on top to see if there is, in fact, a way. It's pulling out a Golden book where Sonic can't find his sneakers. Happy 35th, Sonic!

Mixtape may not work as well within the confines of expected interactivity of a video game, but its template and setpieces are enhanced by interactivity. You don't see many "Interactive Soundtrack" games, but it's just enough, nevermind the great writing. Life needs more secret handshake QTEs. 9/10

Pragmata is a lot of things. It's an intense battle of multitasking. It's a heartfelt father-daughter dynamic. It's a satisfying loop of combat, even when the game throws its craziest rooms at you. And it's Capcom knocking it out of the park with another new IP. It's GOTY for me right now. 10/10

It's been a busy but productive weekend for this giddy old man and his competitive Pokemon journey. There's not much else to say. Just happy I did it with guys like Charizard and Lucario.

Tekken 8 S3 is a rerun of S2 where the patch notes reasoning says one thing, but the intent reveals the hypocrisy. Still, making it harder to demote is a choice. SF6 doing nothing in their Season 3.5 patch was the right move in comparison. Still gonna play both until I get irrationally mad at them.

DLSS5 is an admirable approach to realism, but it’s applications are exclusive and limited. For sports games that are hellbent on being authentic, this will drop the jaws it seeks to drop. For everything else, it interprets realism in unrealistic settings. A contradiction of artistic intent.

*RE Requiem* I don't think I'm gonna look back on the Grace sections fondly on future runs. They felt like RE in bullet time compared to how fast Leon's sections are. Most of Leon's side is "Resident Evil's Greatest Hits", but it's overall not just on par with RE, but action games as a whole. 9/10

The Gamestop in my area closing down is the end of an era, because it's a store that stood tall in the time of GameCube and Game Boy Advance stuff, the latter of which got me through a lot of long bus rides in HS. It's not about what it's become, it's about what's it done for me in the past... RIP
