In my case we had about 2 years of uneasy detente, followed by about a month of abuse, which I put my foot down to stop, then 5 months of couples counseling that collapsed into renewed abuse, followed by a mostly amicable divorce because "this is not the example we should be setting for our kids".

Spain is showing a dynamic right now that unfortunately reminds me of 2015 in the US. Fascists are being shown up as weak on the street, but their electoral proxies do well in polls. In polls and voting booths, cowardly racists can count on their anonymity and vote their fears.
