Yay!
Screenshot of my Home Screen that shows the Radial app’s live feature: where the riders are on a profile of TdF stage 2, and the peloton is 3:28 behind the break with 141 km left to race. The app’s last update was 22 seconds ago.

I always feel better after I’ve gotten out on my bike.
Orange and yellow road bike propped against a bollard. The paved trail is lined with trees, ferns, grass, and other bright greenery.

How much stress baking am I doing? We have Little House on the Prairie quantities of butter, sugar, flour, and yeast.

It’s a beautiful spring day, and I have been out on my bike.
A fine, smooth gravel road rolling off into the distance and around a bend. Green grass is growing on either side, and the deciduous trees among the pines are just putting forth spring buds. The sky is bright and blue with wispy clouds.

There’s a Mackinac Roundtable on Talent and a Mackinac Policy Conference you could maybe swing an invite to? I liked it best in the early morning, before the crowds arrived. Got a great deal on a hotel on the island that year.

A beach is visible, along with an empty road, pine trees, and absolutely no people.

Not from this winter, but trust that the same thing is happening this winter. Apollo loves his frisbee, he loves snow, and the BEST thing in the world is chasing a frisbee in the snow. He could do it for hours.
Apollo, a yellow lab/shepherd mix dog, and his emotional support frisbee, which he has chomped into a taco shape. It’s less aerodynamic that way but he doesn’t care. He’s running in the snow, and the sheer number of paw prints shows that he’s been running back and forth so. much.

Not a lot of riding for me this year; I trained for spring/fall half marathons and did one sprint tri. That still gave me 650+ miles on the bike, mostly in summer! This year I’ve got gravel on my mind, racing and just riding. I planned a new local route last winter and have yet to ride it.

This headline is my Onion all-timer. It’s a silly little bit, but there was an honest-to-god razor arms race happening and then Gillette did EXACTLY THIS
Fuck Everything, We're Doing Five Blades
Published: February 18, 2004
Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the fucking vanguard of shaving in this country. The Gillette Mach3 was the razor to own. Then the other guy came out with a three-blade razor. Were we scared? Hell, no. Because we hit back with a little thing called the Mach3Turbo. That's three blades and an aloe strip. For moisture. But you know what happened next? Shut up, I'm telling you what happened—the bastards went to four blades.

We also have a white sofa and it looks absolutely gorgeous in the room. Or did originally. It’s still very comfy but the white fabric has not at all held up to five years of kids (now 14 and 12) and dogs (which we did not have when we bought the sofa).
Pristine white sofa in my living room, in the glow of afternoon light. Ozzy, a cat, is perched on the cushion with his paws tucked underneath him, not creating stains or bothering anybody at all.

Recliner, couch, office chair… I have so many photos of baby naps like this. At night we coslept (the only way I got decent sleep). We had bed rails on both sides of the bed to prevent baby from rolling off the side. Baby is about to turn 12.
I’m seated in a big red recliner staring wryly at the camera. My nursing tank top is technically still on my body. Sleeping peacefully on my chest is my 8-month old baby. One chubby hand and arm is also resting on my chest.

My dire wolf must be a cousin of yours. Extremely similar genetic markers. I have done science to determine this.
Apollo, a golden lab/shepherd mix dire wolf, looks expectantly at the camera. He is standing, wagging his tail, and 200% ready to catch any possible frisbees that might be thrown here in a minute. If it’s frisbee time. PLEASE LET IT BE FRISBEE TIME

This is what I post from.
A Victorian-style gossip bench: comfortable, lavish-looking upholstered chair on one side with a rolled arm and an ornate carved back. The other side of the bench is an integrated table that holds an old-timey telephone, a pad of paper and a pen. It also has a drawer where you could keep more notes, love letters, a telephone book, pens, empty envelopes, batteries, paper clips, trinkets, or a thousand other things.

Strava art achievement unlocked ✅ 🚴🏻‍♀️
A Strava map of today’s bike ride in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. The map is in the shape of a turkey (the kind you make with your hand, where your thumb is the head and your four fingers are the feathers), and the ride is titled “Happy Thanksgiving 🦃”. Distance: 26.30 miles. Elevation gain: 1,040 feet. Moving time: 2:34:47. Average power: 105 watts. Strava also tells me that with this ride, I completed my weekly distance goal.
