The report actually highlights that successive governments have failed people with ND & MH conditions & sets out a plan to change that. But that's undermined by the fact that the DHSC has very clearly briefed the press on its overdiagnosis agenda. Which the report disproves

"Overdiagnosis" appears in the report 50 times; for the most part, its used to point out how dangerous labelling ND and mental health conditions as overdiagnosed is. It categorically states that there's no data on overdiagnosis.

The gov neurodiversity report is 599 pages long, and the press got it yesterday. They can push that ADHD is overdiagnosed in press release bc they knew no journo was reading 600 pages. Press will publish their lies, and it'll be even easier to take PIP off ADHDers. And that's how they fucking win

Myself and other now-former @thecanaryuk.bsky.social staff haven't been paid our final pay and holiday pay. Numerous emails have been ignored, and we don't even know what the final amounts will be. Multiple marginalised people will struggle to afford bills and keep roofs over our heads.

Yesterday I learnt that not everyone sneezes when the sun suddenly shines on them. What do you mean??? Basically, because the optic and nasal nerves are so close together, they can get mixed up and apparently it only affects 18-35% of people. Hilariously, it's legit called ACHOO syndrome

When we talk about climate change in the UK we need to also talk about the extremes that aren't just heat. On the north east coast especially, we see extremes of rain, wind, cold and sun on a daily and weekly basis more than heatwaves, with disastrous effects.
