Just had some proper retro antisemitism, took me back to the 80s & NF skinhead teens. I was on the tube & someone threw a penny at my feet then waited to see if I'd pick it up - old school! It does prove that fashions always return if you wait long enough, so hang on to those fur coats & crinolines!

The Best Invention Since Sliced Bread. Penicillin's great. The spinning jenny was a marvel. The Hadron Collider - wow! But there is no invention that can compare to the exhilaration of discovering the skip recap/skip intro function on the TV. I rest my case.

Mark can just switch off. Like a switch. I can't stress this enough. He empties his mind like water running out of the bath and then, instantly, sleep arrives. It's like a magic trick! He's tried to teach me how to do this but my mind won't comply.

I went to a meditation session where the facilitator had us lying on the floor with our eyes closed, bodies limp, and in a hypnotic voice told us to imagine we were autumn leaves, being carried on the wind, gradually falling into a river where we were gently drifting on the tide.

I've tried to improve sleep hygiene. No screens. Reading. Silence. Radio on. Going to bed early. Going to bed late. Relaxing my body from toes to head. Mark read those business self-help books like “7 Tricks To Be As Productive As This Guy” & 1 chapter worked like a narcotic, but the impact wore off

My brain is a laptop with 57 tabs open across 3 browsers, 2 are playing music (not the same song) while another's like an audio version of Facebook memories lecturing me about things I've done but wish I'd forgotten & things I've forgotten that I wish I'd done. It's not as relaxing as it sounds.
