Every world book day, my kid’s entire junior school go on a school trip to the local independent bookstore. Most buy a book so around 100 sales. It’s probably my favourite thing about the school.

Got quote from vet for the operations Mabel the rescue dog needs to give her best chance. £6,500. So my fun night will be telling the kids we’re not getting a dog after all. A dog they already love. And fun tomorrow, taking her back to foster care whilst feeling like monsters.

Today I discovered that the woman we are adopting a rescue dog with lied to our face about the dog’s health, and the vet found several worrying lumps that required immediate attention SIX MONTHS AGO. I am absolutely furious and extremely sad. What the actual fuck.

Suggestions of good colour collars for shiny black dogs much appreciated. I think that red is too much for her though as she’s more a girlie girl - except for Xmas obvs, because have found a super red tartan she would look marvellous in and will give her extra confidence to mingle in party season

Went on 2 separate far away, took all day, shopping trips to look for Ugg boots that actually fit me for Christmas. Found beautiful boots. Wore for first time today. Tripped up in M&S by rogue clothes rail. Slashed boot across front. Time worn before trashed - 1.5 hrs I shouldn’t have nice things
