pretty embarrassing to bring my monstrous pc in to a shop at all, let alone the kind where they're visibly confused i don't have or want windows installed, and especially when all they needed to do was swap in an older cpu and update the BIOS, which i have done before... but it's over. we're ok now.

I've been SO fed up with having my phone around me all the time at home (or losing it 🫩), and wanted a "home phone" dock, so i built myself one to test out the idea. requires mental rewiring to use consistently, but liking it so far! (this is why i always keep extra hardware!)

a wall-mounted phone dock made of 3 types of metal brackets leftover from PC parts and shelves, literally glued together, but it looks kind of neat, it's not as ugly as it might sound. below is a usb cable hanging from a mountable ziptie nailed to the wall, it's slack enough that the phone can be plugged or unplugged easily

a "Large Outdoor Run" for cats. a massive green wire cage, perhaps 6 ft tall and longer on the sides, firmly stood on a white void. it is so vast as to need six internal support columns. there are no other interior features. three small cats are photoshopped into the cat looking uncomfortable and lost. their despair is almost human. this is the cat backrooms.

The 4x The Club Padlocks came in a set and so are all keyed the same which makes things much more convenient as you don’t have to try and remember what-key-works-for-what and keep track of multiple types of keys and it comes with 7x keys for them and each says “The Club” on it so there is no way you can not know which of your locks they work for if these are you only The Club locks except the left club lock on top of the chest is missing the black plastic thing that says it is The Club lock but it is 1 and so works with the same key as the rest of the set and the second The Club lock still has the small circular sticker on it (shown in the picture) that says “#1 in safety and security products” but none of the rest do.

the spider under my new door frame is actually still alive. it's still here :') now i need to find the box with my field guide in it

a long-legged runner-shaped spider on a dusty cobwebbed floor. it's brown and tan with a very small, dark opisthosoma and a wavy broad light-colored central strip down the prosoma with dark borders. not a particularly distinctive appearance, could be confused with many wolf spiders and others but from its sedentary behavior it's probably not a wolf spider

shit quality pic, i only have my phone on me, not really worth posting except i'm happy i met a little guy :) currently moving through the folds of my clothing, on the hunt. looks like Metacyrba taeniola. i love the way jumping spiders look like stop motion when they're on a walkabout.

a quite small, black, normal-shaped jumping spider. its rearmost legs are reddish below the first knee. its opisthosoma has parallel lines of yellow dashed markings like road lanes. it is looking at me from the edge of a metal patio table. the photo is blurry cause it's a really small guy
