Shocking, Sam Altman and OpenAI haven't been ethical or responsible in terms of AI safety. archive.is/lhYzZ Let's clearly setup a system by which they promise to hold back, but Sam Altman skipped the whitehouse let's be responsible and hold back session, to announce a ton of new releases.

The MMP and list system both makes the parties stronger than the informal coalitions that exist in US city government and also provide a home for many more ideologies and constituencies under their own independent party structures. Very different from STV systems.

I know immigrant entrepreneurs who give up on relocating here permanently after getting permanent residency for these rules and also the way foreign investment rules make it functionally impossible to grant startup stock options to kiwi's.

Just in October i'm going to have to fly back and forth to the US twice, instead of staying for an extra week between two conferences, just to keep myself eligible to become an NZ citizen. The rules are stupid and make NZ poorer and hurt the economy.

Rabble @rabble.nz · 25/09/2026
That's literally weeks sitting on airplanes, over a hundred thousand dollars in extra business expenses that i would have spent on NZ based employees, and an unknown number of lost deals, all because NZ imposes strict travel limitations on permanent residents who want to become citizens.
100
Rabble @rabble.nz · 25/09/2026
Also the rules for converting from permanent resident to citizen can be difficult to comply with. I've turned down many events that would have helped grow my NZ business and flown back to NZ dozens of times just to make sure i meet the presence requirements to become a citizen.

The point of these so-called decentralized protocols is not to separate us. It's to allow us to collaborate and cooperate…It's less about this sort of atomization and more this cooperative approach to how we think about society on the internet.
