The oversight is the fact that it's difficult. Even with AI only a very tiny % of people would know where to begin and what to prompt. There's ready made free malware for you out there to Skript Kiddie all you want, 99.99% of people would have no idea how to do even that

I am finding A. Applebaum's "Autocracy Inc." quite annoying tbh. She definitely juxtaposes the "good" west and the "bad" autocracies of Venezuela, Russia, China, Cuba etc. But there's zero (so far) about uhh so why dya think Cuba is doing business with BRICS?1/

No "they" didn't and Andy Weir himself wrote the screenplay, or at least took part. Yeah they changed it a bit to make work for the big screen and be a bit more visually entertaining. Maybe you didn't like the changes but that != Murdering the book. The general good vibes, awe and story is there

It arrived that evening because tens of thousands of people are worked to the bone &have to pee in bottles to drive us our trinkets. Bezos paid zero tax and that USB came from China where it cost 1% of what you paid, and polluted the environment while being shipped from the other side of the globe.

I think my stance is that is definitely not OK. But I have way less sympathy for someone like her be cause she would have zero sympathy for me or someone like me. I do think such people deserve compassion, but need to be held at arms length and recognised as what they are - not allies to the cause
