Reminds me of this "paper bag"... People's reaction to it is mixed. Dismissive of someone producing something which looks so mundane, for example. While I look at it and marvel at the skill in producing something which looks so simple: a permanent record of something so ephemeral
Display case in a museum. The work on display is a representation of a paper bag, slightly crumpled, worked in metal, anodised to look like brown paper

What was that line from Dara O'Briain...
I'm sorry, 'herbal medicine', "Oh, herbal medicine's been around for thousands of years!" Indeed it has, and then we tested it all, and the stuff that worked became 'medicine'. And the rest of it is just a nice bowl of soup and some potpourri, so knock yourselves out.

Text of an excerpt:
The United Kingdom has become one of the clearest examples of this broader anti-rights trend.

In Resolution 2417 (2022), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe condemned the "highly prejudicial anti-gender, gender-critical and anti-trans narratives" used to undermine LGBTI equality, identifying the United Kingdom alongside Hungary, Poland, Russia and Turkey as countries where extensive and often virulent attacks on the rights of LGBTI people had been taking place for several years. The United Kingdom demonstrates how anti-rights politics can hollow out democratic societies from within. Sustained anti-gender campaigns by political actors, sections of the media and organized anti-rights groups backed by opaque transnational funding networks have undermined the human rights of trans people, weakened democratic norms and challenged the universality of human rights. Michael O'Flaherty, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, emphasized in August 2026 that the attacks on LGBTI people are the warning sign of a wider backlash against democracy.

Trans people account for less than 1% of US citizens today.

Jewish people accounted for less than 1% of German citizens in 1933.

But the Nazis didn't stop with Jews. They moved on to the next most vulnerable minority group.

Then the next. And then the next...
