A couple of recent pyrography portrait pieces I worked on ^^

A photo from 1949 burned onto wood of a mother and her two children. The young toddler is looking off to the side, her older brother's eyes are shut in the photo. Their mother looks mildly annoyed to say the least.

I made a thank you gift to the first person who requested that I try woodburning human portraits last November and has given me the busiest 8 months of my life art wise... I also learned that I apparently only stick to painting all day if I rotate between 4 different projects in the same sitting.

I decided that waking up at 3 am before work every day to draw more was a viable idea to get myself to stop sleeping in last minute with all the construction going on as of late. Here's a WIP of my next portrait project ^^

A coworker gave me a tracing light pad recently that's been amazing for getting my tattoo portfolio going, so I wood burned a portrait of her dog as a surprise thank you gift. Random acts of kindness keep the world going round and have more weight than we often give credit. #dogs #petart

Lost my Papaw last week unexpectedly. Been painting this piece dedicated to the legend who played Zelda: A Link to the Past on SNES with me when I was 4 years old and got me hooked on the series for the rest of my life. He's done so much for me that would surpass the word count here... I miss him.

A very shaky and old rendition of Hatsune Miku copying pre-existing fanart I used as a reference to learn from when I was 13. The color choices are more extreme in saturation, messy airbrush coloring and attempt at shading. Lines are chicken scratched and at a variety of widths without coherent weight to them as most were drawn over repeatedly when struggling with hand-eye coordination with my first ever use of a drawing tablet.

A much cleaner rendition of Hatsune Miku taking inspiration from the piece drawn in 2013 with the addition of some light orange-pink flowers framed around her. Stippling shading was used, creating some of the older attempt's higher contrast of using black when shading without looking as harsh as the airbrush tool. The coloring on the 2023 version is more akin to watercolors than the previous version both in regard to texture and softer color choices.
