Take that, TTRPG grognards, orcs have been Hispanic since Tolkien wrote 'em (This is a real page from the last chapter of The Two Towers.)

so I also don't like AI and would have bought into this if I hadn't gotten into a discussion about it the full context indicates that the driver for low scores is spending less time on homework, likely because AI is doing the homework for you. Full article for context: archive.is/IpzHi

graph comparing AI-using students and non-AI-using students. X-axis is homework completion time, and Y axis is a normalized exam score. The lines show roughly similar exam results based on similar amounts of time spent on completing homework.

So I got an art commission done of my Stonetop PC! Swyn, the Would-Be-Hero playbook, who was born with a destiny she is only now coming to understand. @softsignal.bsky.social did such an incredible job bringing her to life, I'm so so so happy. #ttrpg #stonetop

An illustration of a young woman with a long, wavy braid and bright violet eyes. She is wearing pants, boots, and a long-sleeved tunic in shades of brown and canvas, and has a dark green cloak that billows out from over her left shoulder. She is squatting, looking thoughtfully into the distance, and holds a hatchet in one hand. Behind her, her shadow is projected onto a wall and ceiling. Her shadow is her standing, wearing a crown, and holding a spear in a blood-stained hand. The tip of the spear, projecting onto the ceiling directly above her head, is dripping blood.

Today we are returning to the olden days and Mealposting. Bacon, onion, and avocado omelette, and a coffee liqueur / frangelico cocktail to drink.

So I was already considering a full Seasons of Hieron relisten, but I think getting this in the mail today pretty much locked it in.

I just spent the last 90 minutes working way too hard on google sheets syntax so that my weekly TTRPG player availability spreadsheet can tell us if we're playing on a given week, AND if we're playing the primary game or the backup game. very proud of myself tbh

I am feeling pretty good about my cooking chops over the past few days. Homemade wings and fries tonight. Maybe one day the kids will even want to eat my cooking! 😂

Plate with homemade buffalo wings, oven-baked French fries, carrot sticks, and a dollop of ketchup.

We played Acorn's first TTRPG this morning. Thanks to @temporalhiccup.bsky.social for creating the lovely Cozy Town! We got through about half a season this morning before it was time to wrap up, but I'm glad I got to share something I love in a way my daughter could also enjoy it.

Kitchen island with Cozy Town set up to play. Handouts for each season oracle and cards, a tablet with the rulebook, reference handouts, pencils, coloring equipment, and a blank page.

The results of the Cozy Town game, with a piece of paper with lots of scribbles and drawings of various things, and a sheet describing some of the features of the town.

I am very excited that my first tattoo is now unbandaged, so I can share good pictures of it. It's a piece I've wanted to get for a long time, to memorialize my metamour who passed after a long fight with an extremely rare cancer. Kingdom Hearts was (and is) important to both of us.

We built a cabinet and put all our physical TTRPG stuff in it! Particular points to my friends @meghanlynnftw.bsky.social and @annalandin.bsky.social (and also Tico's book of poetry)

Bodies are funny. Pictures of bodies, even more so. My relationship to my body changes all the time, and sometimes I feel good about it, sometimes I do not. Lately I've been feeling crummy about it, but even so, I like my shoulders and my hair. I like my hands and my calves. Bodies!
