The worst AWS service isn't public. It's Isengard -- the internal tool that means Amazon's engineers never have to manage AWS the way customers do. If they had to live that pain, it'd get fixed. Open source it or stop using it. duckbillhq.com

Built an agentic EA to handle vendor pitch emails. Technically professional. HR couldn't fire someone for these responses but they'd be having some very uncomfortable conversations. Never felt more alive.

Vercel: $10B company, built entirely on AWS, 20-30% markup. Hyperscalers are becoming power grids. Everything depends on them but that's not where the interesting stuff is. Unlike PG&E, AWS still wants credit for what its customers build. duckbillhq.com
