A rare #Thrift Fail!! Bought this nice piece of luggage from a local Goodwill. I just trusted that staff did their job before shelving, and bought it w/o a good search. Went to start packing tonight, and found a pair of skid-marked men's underwear stuffed deep into the large front compartment!! 🤢

Honestly, food has been my BFF, a parent, a therapist, and a companion all of my life. I have lived such a small, simple life that food is oftentimes the only memorable experience I can have in a day, a holiday, an event. That is very not good. I am hoping to reverse that over time. (3/3)

I had my first Emotional Eating support group last night. I learned something new that has given me a new way of considering my behaviors. The female moderator has worked in hospice support, substance abuse recovery, and is now in disordered eating treatment..... (1/3)

It's my dearest friend's birthday today, but we are celebrating tomorrow. I spent all evening making him 3 cakes. One shark cake is for him alone, and the other was placed on top of the other to create an ocean scene with Swedish Fish. His wife thinks he will love it. Fingers crossed!! #baking

Found two super fun dresses at half-off clothing day! I paid $3 for the overall dress, and $4 for the pumpkin one. Orange is soooo not my color, but that dress is UNIQUE VINTAGE, my friends. The price of that brand is..... 😲. So well made! A bit big on me, but a belt will help. #thriftfinds

If you drive drunk and total someone's car, and they are angry, it's a reflection of your poor choice. Acknowledging that the pain you inflicted on a person is what led them to lash out is a sign of maturity. This can be a growth, justice, and healing opportunity if done in a healthy way. (2/2)

When you find a $200 pet cage in a free pile walking to your car from church. Unreal. After a very thorough sanitization, it will be Nax's cage in my bedroom. Now both boys can spend time with me in here with full accommodation. I just need to give the new cage more bells and whistles!

Jaxy ate 2 servings of baby food with gusto, and some solid foods. I know some folks would not consider that enough to keep him alive, but I do. Euthanasia is the last option, IMO. I prefer to see no hint of spirit. Pain makes it much more dire, though. Jaxy does not seem to be in pain, thankfully.

Jaxy took a turn for the worst after a few great days. He isn't fitting my criteria for being euthanized. I prefer not to put my animals through the stress of travel and unfamiliar places, so send good vibes that he passes peacefully and quickly at home.

The bubble gum yummy Amoxicillin is working on Jax, and he is feeling improved! His breathing is much calmer, and he is eating, drinking, making messes of all sorts, and acting normally. Yes, he still has his tumor, but this improvement of life quality is nice in his last time.

Jaxy is decreasing his eating, playing, and drinking. He is only intaking half his medicine in a day, no matter what I mix it into. May be time to move into palliative care, where it is just a "let him do what he wants" mindset so he can pass on his own time in his own version of comfort.

Bad news. Jaxy's lungs are okay, but the source of his worsening immunity is a most-likely cancerous tumor deep within. He is on antibiotics now, but I will have to begin planning (financially and emotionally) for his euthanization. Not the news I wanted today, but an answer is great.

Keep Jaxy in your hopeful thoughts and prayers. He's healthy for awhile, then he is sick again. Vet appointment today at 2pm. He is eating and drinking, peeing and pooping, so I don't think the end is nigh. But in saying that, I don't think Jaxy has the constitution for a very long life.

It's been a horrendous week. I got involved with something that I was woefully unqualified for, and I had to back out. Drama. My nervous system is still trying to calm down days later. I was mostly in agreement with OA's take on the condition, and there was some disagreement within me. I certainly do not jive with the use of "God" and "Higher Power", but like at UU, I have ways around those. The people there didn't mind that I am an Atheist, thankfully. (2/3)

My first OA meeting yesterday went well. The people were nice and accepting. It isn't a traditional support group, so I have to get used to that. We mostly read aloud from literature. I felt comfortable enough to read and speak in front of the people a few times, so that is a great sign. (1/3)

Tonight I plan on going to my first OE meetup. I knew for decades I was a food addict, but I never really owned it. I am hoping to learn about a life of abstaining from foods that trigger my BED, and how to manage my mindset so I don't use food as the drug it has been for me since I was a child.
