I get emotional thinking about how people who lived with #HIV & #AIDS in da 80s & early 90s were used as guinea pigs for treatment via #clinical trials. SO MANY people died from trial medications' brutal side effects and not even from da virus or disease itself 😔😒😢.

“In the #LGBTQ community, I feel like femme-presenting individuals are not often seen, and that’s been a piece of creating this space,” Alexander-Tumblin said. “It was not intentional because what I put together is for everyone, but it is an emphasis on the #femme community…”

This year, New Orleans Black Pride marked its 5th Annual weekend celebration with an #HBCU homecoming theme. #Queerness shines brightly because the city exists in a world of its own. Ethereal & unlike anywhere else, it has long made space for what other places could not hold 🌈. #NewOrleans

Black #LGBTQIA+ people are not a monolith. While many share similar experiences, each person carries their own story, and those differences can sometimes create tension. Toxic masculinity and #misogyny do not disappear within #marginalized communities.
