Can I just make it clear that Sky Sports News are not reporting the Manchester City story properly. Manchester City have been found guilty of breaches. It is not "reports that the club has breached". Stop sanitising that club.

So, it is 50 years since U2 formed, so they are doing a relatively impromptu gig on Grafton Street.....getting set up now.

I must say, CNN's Head of Legal has a great surname.

....and here is my parents original copy. Despite my best efforts as a child, several turntables with styli of varying quality and house moves, this is still in very good order. Thank God for record cleaning machines.

I agree - I still have the book published by Ladybird, of all publishers, for which you could record the results of every match through the tournament.
World Cup 82, Ladybird publishing. Journal of the World Cup tournament that allowed readers to record the results.

Given the issues a lot of people are having watching the game, it's a bit rich to be asking people to buy the pre-,season pass at half time.

Mind you, I've just realised the photo I posted was a couple of years old. This is what a shy and retiring JRT looks like now....🙂

Oh dear. He still won't learn though. Give it a couple of years and he will be shy and retiring, like this one.

Just for reference, I attach the relevant extract from Law 12 covering handball. The words "control" or "controlling" are not included in the text.

Welcome to the markets. It doesn't matter what PM the UK has, this is the reality facing whoever is in power. Uncertainty makes things more expensive to fund, making it harder to pay for basic public services. Politicians should reflect on this before creating uncertainty.

I really do need to resist the urge to get sucked into this West Ham "goal" debate. However, when some journalists write poorly and inaccurately, it is worth pointing out because it does affect those who read it. Graham Scott in the Athletic, please take note.

How times change. 30 November 1993, I flew to London on business for the first time from Belfast. I volunteered because I knew that I could catch my first Arsenal match at Highbury. No waiting lists, no Ticketmaster, just turn up at the ground. £14 and I was in the North Bank. We lost 0-1.

That was decisive, @kenstephenson.bsky.social. Also, it seems you had a ref that gave you a couple of penalties. Must have been a European 🙂

Ok, so I have an admission to make: I'm a Chartered Accountant - people, please don't hold this against me. Maths may not be my thing, but if a team draws a game, they earn 1 pt. If that team was leading the next one by 3 pts before & now they lead by 3+1 = 4 Pts, is that not a lead extension BBC?

Likewise, I was not a good enough player, so I took up refereeing aged 14, having assisted local refs by running linesman from the age of 11. A local ref gave me this book to study when I started assisting.
My first book on the LOTG.

Louise, does Gunner have a blanket in that bed as well? Her ladyship here has one and when she is either fed up, or ready for bed, she manoeuvres the blanket until she has her optimum comfort achieved. It is quite hilarious to watch....

Likewise, I bought my first LP in 1978 and my first single in 1977. My parents got married young, there were a few 1960s albums from the Moody Blues, Beatles & the like kicking around that are now in my collection, fully playable plus some great singles. Anyway, not a perfect album but this is good

Absolutely outstanding album - we had a copy of that on an Agfa cassette in our Morris Minor. Not a debut album of sorts - more of a one off, but this 64 album is special.....
