The NC Senate just passed this bill to erode AG @jeffjacksonnc.bsky.social powers & weaken checks & balances in our government. Now it goes to the House, where it’s also sure to pass. Gov. @joshsteinnc.bsky.social is expected to veto it - EVERY SINGLE DEM will need to vote to uphold that veto.

The veto override for SB 382 passed with all Republicans voting for it and all Dems voting against it- except for Rep. Joe John, who just announced he’s fighting throat cancer, and Rep. Cecil Brockman, who didn’t bother to show up.

Some of the horrific things in the “disaster relief” bill that the NCGOP just passed. They also moved the Safe Schools task force from under the DPI to the SBI. ONLY 12 pages in the 132-page bill had anything to do with relief for Western NC.
