Depending on what they did maybe they shouldn’t aspire to be. And if they think what they did isn’t going to cause harm if they succeed at their aspirations then go at it. There’s no reason one thing will apply to all people and it’s really weird to hold up a rapist as your personal test.

What punishment are people calling for exactly? People learning information and deciding not to work with him is not punishment. Even if his channel dies and he has to work elsewhere, that is NOT punishment. He keeps everything he's already done. People are allowed to change their mind.

1.) He couldn't really deny fault. The document was already out there. 2.) We don't know he faced punishment - other than he says he did. He received a mild punishment, but as far as how gracefully he accepted that? That's just his word. 3.) Again, just his word about being open in his private life.

When an artist who inspires you turns out to be a rapist, your response cannot be to stop making art. Reject them, their work, the parts of them you once emulated, but don’t stop. It wasn’t their crime that inspired you. Make the things they made you want to make. Fuck them; keep the inspiration.
