The last few years have been hard on independent student newspapers, which rely on ad revenue and donations, as they've been on journalism more broadly. If you're cheering for the reporters at the Cornell Daily Sun (as you should) consider tossing a few bucks toward them or an equivalent publication

I ❤️ finding out my dad is in the hospital via playing telephone with his friend who is in Florida who heard it from her friend who is in Michigan, and who told me he had a BLOOD CLOT when he instead has a flesh-eating bacterial infection. Really great to have that happen in the middle of my day

Like they looked at it and went "ah, the people yearn for hockey romance" without considering that 1) the people yearn for queer stories and 2) heterosexual hockey romance is more like a horror story. Especially given real life men's hockey culture and how it treats women

We are a group of queer artists, and we are in big trouble.
In April 2025, we immigrated to France, seeking a safe place to live and make art.
Our humanitarian visas expired a year ago.
Since then, we have been trying to get legal status in France.
To be able to work, open a bank account, get health insurance and just have some basic human rights.
We spent a whole year fighting for our lives against Strasbourg Prefecture and we lost.

All this time we couldn't properly work, so we were burning our savings.
In August, all three of us were denied a residence permit.
According to the Prefecture, the only option for us To stay legally in France is to become asylum seekers.
About a week ago, we sent out our applications for the asylum.
Now we are looking at another indefinite stretch of time, before we are summoned to Paris for interviews.
It might be two months, three months, half of a year or even more... no one knows for sure.

We had planned for a year without documents max, and now it's been a year and a half already.
No matter how hard we tried to stretch our savings, they have run out.
Currently, we don't have enough money to pay for rent and food in November.
It's hard for me to admit that, but we are in huge trouble, with all our hopes and plans ruined by the French bureaucracy.
We really need your help and every little bit matters, so I came up with some options for how you can support us.
