Megi Endeladze never expected to be at the center of an AI backlash.

She and her husband opened Penny's Coffee Shop in downtown Buffalo, New York three years ago. [following sentence highlighted in blue:]Endeladze kept her 9-to-5 as a chiropractor while spending her free time helping out in the shop.

One of the duties she relished was photographing the drinks and menu items, including a few signature items like a cheesy bread dish from their native country, Georgia, for their social media channels and website.

It’s perhaps bc I’m disabled—and thus am quite familiar with how easy it is to die in America—that I generally agree w/this. Americans who claim they want revolution never seem to think they could or would lose anything in one. They also never seem to know any Bosnians or former Yugoslavians.

Actual revolution, far right or far left, has not come.
But too many Americans seem to think we are immune to such a fate or, worse, that they would find themselves to be the beneficiaries. "Sure," they seem to think "the violent breakdown of social order
might be bad for some. But I'm built different." Some deserving elites may die, but the virtuous will win out. And if not the virtuous, then at least the clever and deserving. As a friend noted, "They watch Mad Max and see themself as Max, never as the poor bastards tied to the front bumpers of the dune buggies."

On the medical bill-chasing Kansas Senator I found this purported local’s comment interesting. I think its referring to this Catholic hospital, in Great Bend since 1903, that became outpatient-only around 2011 (the one the Senator cofounded is in the announcement) www.chausa.org/news-and-pub...

“Kansan here, and also a daughter of a physician.
Marshall voted for cuts to Medicaid, calls any government assistance for the very poor "hand outs," opposes the ACA, while claiming he was the only doctor to accept Medicaid in a rural area. He knew he had very poor patients yet his office refused to work with them to set up payment plans. He knows that with increased deductibles and insurance premiums patients will be less able to pay their bills, yet he has voted against the interests of his constituents and for insurance companies.
Note that there had been a non-profit hospital in Great Bend, Kansas, but Marshall's for-profit hospital drove them out of business. The irony of his claim that he wants hospitals to post their prices! People have no choice, thanks to him.
Yes, doctors do need to be paid. Yet, patients can be dealt with by accepting payment plans, reminding them when they fall behind, helping them apply for Medicaid (or sending them to an agency that will). Some patient's debt may need to go to a collection agency. Lawyers are instructed as to what measures a client wants to pursue;
Marshall could easily have said he didn't want patients to be arrested.
What hypocrisy! This man even had wages and bank accounts garnished, yet his votes in the Senate hurts the very people he claims to have helped! He truly needs to drop the "Doc" thing.”

Great Bend to focus on outpatient care
The newly named 'St. Rose Ambulatory and
Surgery Center' a nod to an earlier time
Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend will soon return to its roots, with plans to become St. Rose Ambulatory and Surgery Center.
CKMC officials hope that the change will be made by April.
At that time, the hospital will focus exclusively on outpatient services, including comprehensive urgent care services and same-day surgery and cancer care, and will no longer provide in-patient care. Reportedly, three floors of the current hospital will close, while more services will be added to the first two floors.
According to the CKMC board of directors, the move comes as a direct response to the changing health care needs of the community.
Hospital recruiter Mark Mingenback noted in an AP news story that 80 percent of the hospital's current service to the community is on an outpatient basis. Although the hospital houses 99 beds, Mingenback said that in the last year, the hospital had an average number of only eight patients staying overnight at one time.

Accuracy ratings for patient records aren’t referenced but these are pretty horrible! (I’d like to know how ‘safety’ was measured)
The company said the integration is read-only and does not write information back to the patient record. It supports two use cases: reviewing authorized patient data within ChatGPT, and embedding ChatGPT directly into an EHR layout for in-chart AI assistance.

The Healthcare Public Data plugin connects ChatGPT to nine official public healthcare sources, including ClinicalTrials.gov, CMS Coverage, RxNorm, DailyMed and PubMed. OpenAI said physicians rated 99.1% of ChatGPT responses safe across 4,363 ratings spanning 27 clinical use cases involving connected EHR context. Accuracy ratings for the public data connectors ranged from 93.2% for CMS Coverage to 98.6% for DailyMed.

Saint Sebastian was an early Christian martyr who was tortured by an onslaught of arrows.
Artists often depicted him as a youthful beauty to underscore his imperviousness to suffering. Here, his bare chest is thrust forward and his loincloth slips down to reveal a delicately painted trail of pubic hair. His face suggests a kind of ecstasy as he looks toward the heavens. For many today, Sebastian has become an emblem of queer beauty, erotic vulnerability, and hope in the face of suffering.

@variety.com Tim Curry does not deserve the ableist “confined to a wheelchair” treatment. Without wheelchairs, people who need them aren’t able to leave their beds. Wheelchairs give people freedom & independence. Curry lived 14 yrs using one, continuing his work as a successful voice actor.
From Variety:
Beginning with “FernGully: The Last Rainforest” in 1992, Curry was frequently employed as a voice artist for theatrical and home video animated features, among them “The Pebble and the Penguin” (1995), “The Rugrats Movie” (1998), “Rugrats in Paris” (2000) and “The Wild Thornberrys Movie” (2002), the latter a spinoff of the long-running kids’ show, in which he also was featured.

That work stood him in good stead after 2012, when a severe stroke confined the actor to a wheelchair. In later years, cartoon and video game voicing served as his principal employment.

At least one employee was fired by DOGE for criticizing Musk’s company
One FAA employee who was fired over the weekend suggested he was targeted for his views on Tesla and X, formerly Twitter, not as part of a general probationary-level sweep. Both are owned by Elon Musk, who is leading Trump's effort to cut the federal government.

Charles Spitzer-Stadtlander posted on LinkedIn that he was fired just after midnight Saturday, days after he started getting harassing messages on Facebook.

"The official DOGE Facebook page started harassing me on my personal Facebook account after I criticized Tesla and Twitter," Spitzer-Stadtlander wrote. "Less than a week later, I was fired, despite my position allegedly being exempted due to national security."

He added: "When DOGE fired me, they turned off my computer and wiped all of my files without warning."

And it gets worse, bc cops fuck up and do PIT maneuvers on the wrong cars, or on people in medical emergencies:
Arkansas state troopers mixed up fleeing suspects with innocent drivers and executed PIT maneuvers on the wrong cars in at least two instances. In January of this year, an ASP officer was fired after he rammed into the wrong car, which was later revealed to have a 9-year-old boy on board, while pursuing a suspect in Little Rock. In September 2023, an ASP officer was fired after he did a PIT maneuver on the wrong car on Interstate 40 near West Memphis.

And there are multiple instances of troopers PIT-maneuvering vehicles that are speeding toward hospitals amid medical emergencies.

In February, an ASP officer PIT-maneuvered a driver on I-630 in Little Rock who was transporting a child having a medical emergency to a nearby hospital.

Holy shit this is a lot
PITs peaked in 2024, though, with 559 pursuits, 265 PIT maneuvers, 106 injuries and six deaths. That’s more than any other year and the largest year-to-year increase in the data. Nine civilians were injured and three were killed. Nearly half of state police pursuits in 2024, roughly 47%, involved a PIT maneuver.

This story is important but I am a bit disgusted at how @mikeelk.bsky.social misrepresents NYT’s June reporting THREE women alleged abusive treatment (2 women are Dems—including Racicot). If PR’a coverage was dismissive this is a time to take responsibility for that, not to denigrate survivors.
Payday Report’s article: Then, on June 4th, The New York Times came forward with the story that he was previously abusive to an ex-girlfriend, Lyndsey Fifield. However, The New York Times admitted that they could not corroborate the story. Many dismissed it quickly since Lyndsey Fifield had a history of lying about Palestinian activists. She had also led a group that was accused of lying about the sexual assault accusers of Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate confirmation hearings.
Five days later, Platner soared to a 72% victory in the Maine Democratic primary for Senate.
Many took his victory as a sign that Mainers were willing to look past Platner's faults and focus on his politics.
Rape Accusations Emerge Against PlatnerFrom NYT:
The critical accounts provided by three of the women interviewed by The Times, who were each in romantic relationships with him for years, give a fuller picture of Mr.
Platner's life. They shed light on an earlier era, when he has acknowledged intense struggles, but also raise questions about his more recent years in Maine, which his campaign has presented as a period of healing and personal redemption.
The disclosures last week that Mr. Platner, now married, was exchanging sexual messages with women as recently as last year have complicated that narrative and unnerved Democrats, who see the Maine seat as key to their efforts to regain control of the Senate.
Lyndsey Fifield, 40, a Virginia conservative who has worked for right-leaning groups and Republican campaigns, recalled him as
"cavalierly contemptuous of women's emotions, of our 'weakness." Ms. Fifield, who dated Mr. Platner from roughly 2013 to 2015, said that his offensive online posts
"reminded me of just how much he hated women."
Jenny Racicot, 41. a Maine Democrat, who said she dated hnytimes.com ff and onJenny Racicot, 41, a Maine Democrat, who said she dated him casually off and on between 2019 and 2021, said the posts deepened her belief that he did not respect women. "When I saw the old comments that he made online," she said, "I recognized a version of him that I had experiences with."
Some of the women also raised questions about his trustworthiness. Mr. Platner's insistence that he did not know that his tattoo was a Nazi symbol until it became a campaign issue last fall was simply not true, Ms. Fifield said. After all, she said, he had taught her the word for it years earlier, referring to it as "my Totenkopf."
The third woman, a Democrat from Maine who spoke on the condition of anonymity, had a long-distance relationship with Mr.
Platner on and off for years, as recently as 2016.
The three described him in similar terms.
Spending time with him could be exhilarating, they said. But they also recounted patterns of heavy drinking and womanizing. Asked to sum up how he treated her, the third woman said she felt like
"collateral damage to the world that is his."
When Ms. Fifield first met Mr. Platner in 2013, he was a student at George Washington University, and she was working on veterans' issues at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and beginning to make a name for herself as a conservative activist online.
Their roughly two-year, on-again, off-again relationship, as Ms. Fifield described it, was heady and passionate.

TYSM! I hope someone digs into the funding stipulations, or tries to find out if including Cleves formally was discussed in early stages. D&Q pretending not to understand this distinction in research is IMO shitty. They’re treating credit as if a graphic novel is just like a school book report.
This is the only time Cleves is mentioned in the graphic novel, but her name appears a total of 50 times on Walden’s website; in the notes for “Part Four,” Walden refers to Cleves as “our Holy Mother of knowledge.” Cleves was sent a link to the website after she posted her open letter, and says that it indicates to her that Walden’s book is a clear adaptation of hers.

“Clearly the process behind Tillie’s book is that she read my book really closely and started making a draft based on it and then went to the archive to look at stuff. If you haven’t done historical research, it’s hard to explain the difference between those things, but my book is a narrative. It’s not just facts,” Cleves explains. “It’s a narrative constructed out of eight years of research in which I did the puzzle work of figuring out how to put together all the pieces and I invented and then wrote a story. It’s awesome that she went to the archive, but it does not mean that her book is based on archival research.

“Drawn & Quarterly should have optioned my book and titled Tillie’s in a way that indicated it is an adaptation,” she continues. “They should have put me front and center. Not knocking her incredible work, but they should have openly acknowledged that it’s a graphic novel adapted from my book. … When you go to Tillie’s website where she lays out the process, it’s clear that it’s an adaptation, and that is at odds with Drawn & Quarterly’s marketing and packaging of the book. There’s no acknowledgment of me, my title, my cover, my story, or my research except for one sentence buried in the notes. Everything else is online.”

Updates
March 6, 2026: By a party line 28-24 vote, the House Energy & Commerce Committee passed a new 12-bill package, H.R. 7757, the Kids Internet and Digital Safety Act (the KIDS Act), that includes an updated version of KOSA. This new package contains preemption language that could limit state-level regulation, and it removed a "duty of care" provision that required tech companies make reasonable design efforts to minimize harm to minors. The KIDS Act now moves toward a full vote in the House.
Congress has again put forward legislation aimed at controlling what content children see online, known as the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). During the previous congressional term in 2024, the bill passed the Senate but then failed in the House due to Republican leadership fears that it may be used to silence certain political views. While the bill's sponsors claim that changes were made to the text to address the widespread concerns that KOSA would

Oh no it’s not accurate—but Ayoade openly supports him. Linehan’s memoir abt ‘being cancelled’ came out in 2023, Ayoade wrote a blurb for the cover etc, said this on a podcast (I can’t find a transcript of the episode to confirm, s/s is from Daily Mail) Ross’s book is horrible btw—
Speaking on Gyles Brandreth's Rosebud podcast, Ayoade said: 'He's had, I think, a very harrowing time.

'But I wrote (the review) because he wrote an autobiography and his involvement, I suppose, he would frame it in terms of women's rights as opposed to being anti- anything, so I wanted to say I thought his book was well-written and good.

'I think he's a great writer, a brilliant writer, and I think everyone who would know him would know he's a man of great principle, I think.'

Linehan's book was also praised by Jonathan Ross, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas author John Boyne, GB News presenter Andrew Doyle and Trans author Helen Joyce.

The Irishman later praised his fellow celebrities for their support, noting: 'I'm hoping that their bravery will mean that other people can just say what they think about this subject.'

He claims to focus on sterility but his products are still harming people. He also says these kids who nearly died weren’t as sick as he claimed (even tho it’s clear they were). He can’t accept his products make people sick bc his business relies on selling health.

McAfee said the 2006 outbreak opened his eyes to the risk of his product and was part of the reason he developed standards for unpasteurized dairies.
But more awareness and better practices didn't stop McAfee's customers from continuing to get sick - in 2007, and 2011, and 2012, and 2016 — and the farm had to issue recalls more than half a dozen times after pathogens were found in its products.
And then between 2023 and 2024, regulators linked the farm to one of the largest publicly known raw-dairy outbreaks in decades, with more than 170 people falling ill from salmonella. McAfee disputed his farm's connection to many of the outbreaks, including this one.

You might want to make sure you’re not eating raw cheese
death.
“We catch these things and divert the milk immediately,” McAfee said of the pathogens.
I assumed that after diverting batches, the farm discarded them.
Later that day, I learned otherwise.
“We have a red-flag system here, where if there’s anything that gets really out of whack, they can immediately tag the milk, and it doesn’t go to anything but cheese,” McAfee told me. “Because, you know, cheese is resistant to pathogens.”
Research has shown that raw cheese is not, in fact, resistant to pathogens; while aging can mitigate some risk, harmful bacteria can still survive the usual 60-day maturation process.
Hearing about the practice took me by surprise — the farm did what with that milk? — so I asked about it again.
McAfee confirmed that milk with pathogens was used to make cheese, except for batches with salmonella, which he said were dumped or sent out for pasteurization. (I later learned the FDA knew he was doing this and had told him to stop two years ago. But no one had alerted the public.)

Like this?? It’s June & they don’t have healthcare compliance & billing experts in place making sure federal insurance (Medicaid, Medicare) isn’t billed for shit they’ll object to? The whole point of providing city-funded care is so the Fed can’t step in—that’s how they’re threatening hospitals!
"We are committed to this issue and want to make sure that we provide the services and
resources for youth as well *as making sure that we don't expose ourselves to clawbacks from the federal government*, which disrupt the rest of the care that we can give," Martin said.

It should be clear to Americans that convenience is not more important than people’s lives, and yet organized pushback to protected lanes from people “concerned about the loss of parking spots and ease of driving for car users.”
Christina Whitehouse, founder of the advocacy group Bike Lane Uprising, described O’Neil as someone who “genuinely cared.” She called his death a “poetic injustice.”
Better infrastructure is needed to prevent deaths like O’Neil’s, Whitehouse said. So too is better education for drivers, she said.
Bike lanes in the area near where O’Neil died are painted, not protected by a physical barrier. Bike safety advocates criticize unprotected lanes, saying they aren’t sufficient to protect bicyclists from car drivers.
In Chicago, some efforts to build more protected bike lanes have sparked organized pushback from people who say they are concerned about the loss of parking spots and ease of driving for car users.
“[O’Neil’s] death was preventable, and is a painful reminder that these tragedies are a result of policy choices and political will,” said Kyle Lucas of the advocacy group Better Streets Chicago in a statement. “Our elected officials must say enough is enough, and commit themselves to building the kind of infrastructure we know works to save lives.”

Btw David this is an excellent piece—I grew up watching my parent work w/a Catholic-run hospital in the 90s and it was always exactly this—sisters trying to get reproductive care for women in dire circumstances, running around bishops trying to stop them. It got much worse when they were acquired.
“The issue isn't about Catholic people, many of whom disagree with these restrictive policies,” the 2025 report from Community Catalyst, one of the few organizations who has openly criticized the damage done by the church's healthcare networks, declared. “It's about holding large healthcare systems accountable to their non-profit mission, and ensuring healthcare serves everyone, not just some of us.”
That is absolutely true. A notable part of this investigation over the past few months was encountering stories like Foster's, where pro-trans Catholics and others in church-run networks worked around the hierarchy to get badly needed care to those in our communities.
But more, especially now, is needed. If you are Catholic and find the stories above appalling, you have a duty to speak up and act against the oppressions inflicted by the church hierarchy acting in your name. The example of the doctor who kept Foster on the surgery schedule even after the bishops’ ban is the bare minimum.”

There’s also this very exciting potential aspect (I follow a doctor on IG who posts about GYN disease who mentioned this, this is an overview on endometriosis-related inflammation): www.healthcentral.com/condition/en...
What’s more, recent research has begun to look at the effects GLP-1 agonist medications have on reproductive health. For instance, a study in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences found that people with endometriosis have lower levels of GLP-1 (a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar and appetite, which GLP-1 agonist meds increase). This may in turn block the action of immune cells whose job it is to sweep away endometrium cells that make their way into the abdominal cavity, where they could lead to the development of endometriosis.

And the authors of a February 2025 review in the journal AOGS looked into how GLP-1 agonist meds may affect fertility. They theorized that the medications could improve endometrial receptivity (the ability of the uterine lining to be ready for embryo implantation), possibly by reducing inflammation and obesity, both of which negatively affect the health of the endometrium, and noted that more research is needed to explore this possibility.

Yeah, this woman is a raging antisemite and should not be near government for a variety of reasons, if you didn’t catch it from the screenshot OP posted
Over the past week, Galindo has accused her runoff opponent — former Bexar County Public Information Officer Johnny Garcia — of participating in a human trafficking conspiracy orchestrated by billionaire zionist Jews. She also pledged during a Texas Public Radio interview to put Garcia on trial for treason.

Beyond her attacks on Garcia, Galindo has continued to promote the narrative that a cabal of Jewish zionists controls Hollywood, the media and even local politicians.

Oh look, it gets worse!
The ABA's Council of Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar also voted on Friday to gather public comments on eliminating a rule adopted in 2022 that requires law schools to educate students about bias, racism, and cross-cultural competency, as well as a proposal to drastically pare back, opens new tab its non-discrimination rule for students and faculty.
It could reach a decision on those changes as early as August.

There’s also the right wing extremism that enables this—one of the survivors in the NBC interview mentions he was told he could talk about masturbation—in 94 Clinton fired Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders for mentioning that should be part of public health. Purity culture made that a huge taboo.
Clinton Fires Surgeon General Over New Flap

WASHINGTON — President Clinton fired outspoken Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders on Friday for telling an AIDS forum that she believes masturbation “perhaps should be taught” to schoolchildren.

Ousting the most controversial official of his Administration, Clinton said Elders’ comments reflect “differences with Administration policy and my own convictions, and have made it necessary for her to tender her resignation.”

Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee is maybe the funniest thing on television and I really appreciate how it’s buffering the other media keeping The Horrors at bay (currently: queer books, my cat, queer webcomics, Hades 2) (my cat is ranked 2nd b/c he regularly steals my spot in bed)
Slightly out of focus, my orange cat peeks up with a green eye from underneath a painted side table. He lays on a wooden floor, plotting.

Oh hey b/c people are held without bail for months she only has to serve 1 or 2 more weeks in jail, and this piece notes the trial dragged b/c she made cops get a warrant for her arrest. (Like that’s bad???) And the man being illegally evicted was 80 years old & undergoing cancer treatments 🤬 ACAB
The case crept along for years, in part because Ms. Woods missed an earlier trial date, and was found in a motel room in Tennessee. But she refused to waive extradition back to Massachusetts for more than three months, until a warrant was issued, and she was returned.
She had also been representing herself in court until Ms. Saldarelli was appointed her defense lawyer at the start of the trial.

Ms. Woods, now 59, has been the subject of several evictions herself, Ms. Saldarelli said. Ms. Woods advocates on behalf of people harmed by predatory lending, loan schemes that let lenders charge borrowers sky-high interest rates.

Ms. Woods said in her affidavit that she was trying to save her friend’s home because he was almost 80 years old and was undergoing cancer treatment.

“It really was just a sincere hope that he would not suffer the humiliation and devastation of going through an eviction, of losing your home,” Ms. Saldarelli said on Sunday.

While Ms. Woods was at the house, trying to delay the eviction, the owner had gone to the public library to use a computer to file an emergency stay of the order.

We have no information of what her friend is doing other than treating the author with acceptance and kindness. The author sees her friend is taking a medication that she feels does that, were given no other information:
A few weeks after book club, we wished each other happy birthday in lowercase. We haven't spoken since.
From mutual friends, I've gleaned that we both feel similarly
- something like, "It's a gigantic bummer but I get it." In many ways, I'm being a baby. But eating-disorder recovery is a process of relearning how to feed yourself - tuning back into the body's most basic needs, which is the stuff of babies. If I could keep the friendship and compartmentalize the fact that she is orienting her life toward thinness, I would. But my brain doesn't work like that. In the same way a recovering alcoholic is ineligible for a glass of wine to decompress before bed, I am ineligible for regulation regarding my body: no counting, weighing, or food rules. Left on autopilot, I fiend for control, veering toward the self-objectification that drained my life of delight for so long. The allure of looking "perfect" is a siren call that will always turn my head. I'd love to reach a point where the tune disinterests me. In the meantime, I do what I can to plug my ears.
I don't fault my friend for any of this. Of course I don't. We live in a world replete with signals that thin is good and fat is bad; if society — if your doctor - offers a silver bullet, why wouldn't you take it? No one is immune, especially me.
I miss her. But of all my breakups, this has been the least painful - not because our love was platonic, but because it was an act of self-protection. My boundaries are unforgiving because they have to be.
Torturing myself for more than a decade radicalized me. I know what it feels like to live under a reign of restriction, and I know how it feels to choose allowance instead. Now, when my appetite crests, I feel grateful. What a treat, to look forward to eating. Hunger is the body's announcement that it is alive and wants to stay that way.

The bit about the drugs (very hard to get in America!), symptoms, advice on what to do, info on RAINN, all takes up several paragraphs. They also note near the end that the chat these abusers organized on was shut down *during their investigation*, just as the site Pelicot’s abuser used is offline

Rohypnol, GHB and chloral hydrate are examples of drugs more typically associated with drug-facilitated sexual assault and date rape, US-based sleep specialist Michel Cramer Bornemann told CNN. Rohypnol and GHB fall within the benzodiazepine family, a group of sedative-hypnotic depressants.

As these drugs are highly controlled in the United States, Cramer Bornemann said there has been a pivot towards people using alternative drugs for date-rape purposes. One drug he highlighted is zolpidem, a prescription sedative-hypnotic known for its rapid onset, prescribed to people struggling with insomnia. As zolpidem, commonly known in the United States as Ambien, falls outside the benzodiazepine family, it is often more "readily available" but if misused can be "nefarious," Cramer Bornemann said.

They talk to ~4 survivors (across the U.S., UK, and Europe—1 is a political activist now) front load this story w/creepy images on a dark background, screenshots from chats, and end it w/‘here’s what to do if you think you’re being drugged’. These are stable statistics! @nora.zone I’m so angry w/CNN
In England and Wales - the jurisdiction in which survivors Watts and Stanhope live - 43% of recorded sexual assaults involved a partner or ex-partner, according to March 2025 data, marking a minor decrease from
45% five years ago. The proportion of victims recorded as having been assaulted while unconscious or asleep has risen to 23% from 21% over the last decade.
Conviction rates for sexual offenses across
Europe - as in the US — remain low.
This comes as no surprise to Stanhope.

“…them, made people run from them," said Xavier de Janon, lawyer for one of the defendants at the state level and director of mass defense at the National Lawyers Guild. According to de Janon, the fact that there was a gun present and that the black bloc participants did not conform to certain standards of respectable activism made this case seem unsavory or too risky to support.
The prickliness of the case was heightened by the dominance of the police narrative within media coverage, helped by the fact that the defendants themselves, whose phones were confiscated upon arrest and who knew their jail calls were being monitored, were unable to give outlets their own story or were initially fearful of doing so. A flurry of news articles on the case's disturbing implications for First Amendment rights began to be published only during the trial
—and, in many cases, after the verdict. It was only after the convictions that the liberal and progressive and leftist media started focusing on it," said de Janon. "[But] the facts have never changed." Democracy Now!, for example, wouldn't respond to media requests from the support committee for the entirety of the trial, only running a piece once the verdict had come down.

So: If you do this (first image), the lock screen will just show a user name and password field instead of list of users. So unless Border Control knows the name of the other account already they wouldn’t have any way of seeing it there. It should make your lock screen look like the second image.
iMessages:

If they search in system settings for "login window" they should find an option to have the login window to show a name and password field instead of a list of users.
It depends on the version of the
OS they're on, the option is either under the "Lock Screen" section or the "Users & Groups" section

Chan's inclination to keep Lau out of prison reflected a "measured and humane application of justice," Morris said last month.

Several months after the crash, the victims' family members filed a wrongful death civil suit against Lau. Last May, they filed another civil lawsuit against her after their attorneys alleged Lau transferred her ownership interest in several properties to new limited liability companies and sold properties to third parties, including her son-in-law, in an effort to protect her assets in the event she loses the civil suits
