I finished my art course! I've basically just been crashing the last few weeks, it took a lot out of me. But I'll try and post some more of the stuff I've done soon. Here are some test pieces I made for the comic project I've been working on. I used ink, watercolour, and coloured pencil for both.
A test comic page with three panels zooming from a triangular doorway with seaweed spilling out of it, to a city of colourful ziggurat or pyramid like buildings, to a longer view showing the city to be in the middle of the sea. The three panels are arranged vertically and in increasing size to mirror the shape of the buildings. The third panel forms the background of the page, with the horizon placed where the panel border would typically go, and the cloudy sky visible around the other two panels.Three ziggurat or pyramid like buildings standing in the sea. The buildings are colourful with striped patterns and a mural of a mermaid on the largest building. Seaweed hangs from multiple places on the buildings, and a large mass of it emerges from a doorway on the side of the largest building.

A couple of older pen drawings I'm still quite proud of. The one on the left was an experiment with some cheep coloured pens, while the one on the right was an experiment with stippling and crosshatching (inspired by classic Sci Fi artist Virgil Finlay).
A coloured pen drawing of a vampire's face in portrait. A black pen was used for the outlines of the drawing, and coloured pens were used to colour and shade it using cross hatching. The vampire has quite stylised angular facial features with a bald head, pointed ears, and full red lips, and is wearing a high collared cloak with a red jewelled broach. The drawing is dated to the 6th of December 2023.A pen drawing showing a pair of hands with long unkempt nails gripping the bars of a prison cell window, with two eyes staring unsettlingly from the pitch darkness beyond the bars. The piece is shaded using several different techniques. Stippling was used for the walls around the window, the highlights on the hands and the shadows on the whites of the eyes. Hatching was used for the bars and the irises of the eyes, and crosshatching for the shadows on the hands. The drawing is dated to the 6th of August 2024.

Two designs I’m trying to choose between for the protagonist of the comic project I'm working on. I'd appreciate any feedback people have on these concepts! Inspiration by a bunch of different photo reference packs from www.satinezillah.com/photoreferen..., trueref.io, and redsreferences.com.
A page from a visual diary with two figures sketched in pencil. Both figures have their hair pulled back into a bun with lose strands dangling around the face, they are posed holding a large scaly fish skin over their shoulder, and are wearing a necklace of seashells.

The figure on the left is a transmac person with visible top surgery scars wearing a loincloth and a sash. Next to them is a close up detail of their loincloth showing how it's folded.

The figure on the right is a transfem person wearing a long skirt and a strip of cloth around their breasts. next to them is a alternate transmac version of their chest wearing a binder.

A couple of faces. The pigments in the green pencils I was using for the one on the left didn't blend very well for some reason, so the texture is a bit off from the rest of the piece.
Coloured pencil drawing of a woman's face looking off to the side. It's done in high contrast red and green, with a darker yellow background. The green parts of the drawing have a rougher texture that doesn't really match with the smoothness of the red sections.Pencil sketch of a woman's face drawn at a three quarter angle. The features of the face have more detailed shading than the woman's hair and shoulders, which are a bit rougher and less distinct.

Over the last year or so I've been really focusing on learning anatomy. Here are some highlights! (all made using photo references from www.satinezillah.com)
Gouache painting of a naked woman from the waist up, painted in high contrast red, green, and yellow. She's posing dramatically with her hands up near her face, fingers outstretched, looking intensely at the viewer.Pencil sketch of a nude man viewed from a slightly lower angle. He is standing on a square platform of some sort, with his head thrown back, and one arm thrown up over his head. Both the pose and his anatomy have a statuesque vibe to them.Pencil sketch of a nude woman from about knee up. She has her arms up and her hands behind her head, with her eyes closed, and her head leaning against the nearer arm. She has a lose long sleeved shirt (the "romantic poet" style of shirt) tied around her waist like a skirt. Pencil sketch of a man in underwear from above. He's striking a pose bent over two boxes, one hand resting on each box, while one leg extends to the side, the other hidden by his body. This sketch has more detailed shading than the last two, capturing more of the figure's musculature.
