iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Truly. Still I can use it to appreciate how my standards have risen with my age.

Things would happen where the game clearly wanted you to empathize with the characters and I just couldn't. Perhaps that's why the only thing I truly remembered all these years later was the excellent combat. That still remains a highlight and was where I found all my enjoyment. 6/10

Finished Wild Arms 4. Going back to games can lead to reconnecting to something you loved but it can also work in inverse. Playing this as a kid and as an adult are completely different experiences and my main takeaway is... I didn't really enjoy it. The writing was so lackluster and uninspired.

I love the seedy, underbelly towns with the shifty alleyways and skeevy music. They're always the most fun to explore

Started Wild Arms 4 last night and got hit with a wave of nostalgia. This is my favorite Wild Arms game but I've only beat it once and that was well over 15 years ago. I'm very excited to return to it

Took it easy today and laid back with Atlantis for the PS1. What a fun little adventure game to one of my favorite animated films. Hope everyone has a good night! 😴

Tales of the Abyss complete! 46 hours later and I can easily see why it's considered one of the series best. Fantastic cast, strong storytelling and simple but enjoyable combat. Has entered my top 5 Tales of games for sure. 10/10

Happy Friday! I am exhausted but also excited for the weekend. I'm at the final dungeon in Tales of the Abyss so I'll be finishing up that probably tomorrow and I've also got the new East of Eden adaptation to bing.

Went through the PS3 digital store one last time just to grab anything I really want. It's sadly being held together by string at this point, the search function doesn't even work anymore. Still I was able to grab a few games including Suikoden 3, the Arc the Lad trilogy and Vagrant Story.

Final day of September which means it's time to update the list. Been taking a break so only one new addition but I have gotten back into Tales of the Abyss and I'm still loving it. I'm expecting October to be a more productive month on the gaming front.

I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend. I've just been chilling, playing some Tales of the Abyss and Warriors Orochi 1. I'm ready for autumn to fully arrive though, I'm over this heat 🍂🍁

September is a pretty free month for me when it comes to new game releases, so I have time to knock out more backlog, but October is looking to be a bit more stacked. Eternia and Resonance are my priorities but they release so close together 😵‍💫

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Sure! Any excuse to talk more Tales lol

Started Tales of the Abyss a few days ago. This is the last big Tales game I have yet to play. Many people claim it's even the best. I'm ready to find out for myself and fill this massive hole in my jrpg backlog. I'll just say it has started incredibly strong.

I'm all for this trend of taking canceled mobile games and repurposing them into full console experiences. It'd be a shame for all that work to go to waste.

110

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Another Eden Begins releases on the 17th (digital, the physicals are supposed to release next year). I think it looks fun but I'll probably wait for the physical release and the reviews.

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

I was super excited when I started playing, what a shame. That said it still oozes charm.

020

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Finished Terra Memoria and while I appreciate the beautiful art style, I cannot say I loved the final product. It's all over the place with It's questing system and while the early battles are fun, the lack of any deeper mechanics leave them feeling dull by the halfway point. Took me 14hrs. 5/10

August has come to a close so it's time for another update. Had a lot of fun this month. FFXII is always a treat and Visions of Mana was immaculate. Not to mention I got to play FF3 for the first time...twice! lol

040

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

I would say just go into it knowing it can be a bit punishing, especially towards the endgame. It's an easier pill to swallow when you aren't caught off guard by the ramped up difficulty.

110

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

I'll probably do the same for IV, play both the Remake and Pixel Remaster back to back as it's now the last mainline FF I've yet to play. But that's further down the line.

020

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Remake giving the characters names and basic personalities do make it feel a bit stronger in the story department but they don't change it all that much. I personally really enjoy both art styles. Pixel art really never goes out of style and I have a soft spot for more chibi, 3D models of the 2000's

020

{ANG€L} @queer169.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Finished Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster. So after playing both the 3D remake and the Pixel Remaster back to back I can definitely say the Pixel Remaster was the more enjoyable experience, though both have their merits. This was my first time playing FF3 at all so it was a fun experiment lol

Finally found the time to watch the GTA VI gameplay and yup, that's a GTA game. Not something I'm really interested in but at least it's finally coming.

I completed Final Fantasy 3 on the DS last not. Overall was not a fan of this version of FF3. Ridiculously over tuned in difficulty. Probably wouldn't play again. That said I am interested in how the Pixel Remaster stacks up, haven't played it, so I think I'm going to do back to back FF3 runs.

I'm having a spot of trouble landing on my next game. Right I'm currently playing the Final Fantasy III Remake but that's more of a secondary game as it's really just a bunch of grinding. When I get the time I've got to go through my backlog and find something short and sweet.
