I'd like to have something like the Rattlegram modem in FLDIGI for VHF operations. The app works so well but it's such a novelty. MT63 works fine but I've had such good results for wildly low effort with Rattlegram over a repeater.

Yeah QSSTV works but MMSSTV is just nicer to use. Weekly SSTV Roundtable on local VHF repeater tonite. Always fun to see what people bring to share.

So Packet networks, yep it's still a thing only now we have VARA which is more stable and much faster than 300bps AX25 was for me as a QRP operator and there's a VARA terminal that makes that work with BBS stations on HF downloads.winlink.org/VARA%20Produ... #hamradio

I'm curious if we'll see any migration to Mercury vs VARA? Right now it's few and far between using it, but as an open source, platform agnostic parallel to VARA there is some potential I suppose.

VARA is still a challenge here with my Mint system. I have it workable on a Pi. Now Winlink, I'm using Pat for WL2K though minus VARA on HF that's rough though it's FB on Packet. Still working on this too dl2man.de/ARDOP/

I questioned frequency stability as well with mine. I've modded a Quansheng UV-K5 recently to get back to all mode 2m operations but still need to do physical changes, just did firmware so far. SSTV and CW on FM and keyer work well.

2m all mode right? I had one back in the late 90's and it seemed to operate well but there was little to no non-FM 2m operations around me so I sold it for lack of use. Many years later I'd love the chance to do 2m CW again.
