Her escape seems dead in the water, until Otto is sent with the pirates to pursue a legendary Stone, and she will not be left behind.

Reunited on the waves, Osian and Delphine's spark strengthens. Then a deception within the crew locks a cruel enemy from Osian's past onto their tail, one who will stop at nothing to end his life. While Osian is eager to forget the reward, the pirates want Otto's life if the mission fails.

Delphine must decide whether to trust the man she's falling for, or betray him to save Otto.

Their eyes met. Delphine pinned him with her expectant stare, and he worried again whether she could rummage around his mind for the answers she sought.

What could he say? She’d no doubt find him obsessive if he told her the truth – how he’d spent so many waking moments wondering if she remembered their one dance as fondly as he did, when moonlight had clung to her hair and tickled her face as she’d taunted him beneath the stars. How he’d been so relieved to see her on board his ship, in a way he couldn’t put into words.

How he hadn’t managed to get rid of the smell of sugar since meeting her, and didn’t want to.

Would he have regretted her kiss?

“No, Ceraid.” He swallowed, shuffling under the weight of the question. “I could have never regretted it.”

An agent guide for The Siren's Call by Danielle Bradbury and Ashlea P Screaton. A new adult slowburn romantic fantasy.

Pitch: Delphine’s always wished for a life as romantic and adventurous as her stories. With any brief escape punished by her employer, she’s desperate to flee, if not for Otto; her best friend, and the only family she’s known. So when he is sent with pirates after a mythical map, she refuses to be left behind.

At sea, a budding romance with the Captain reveals he’s tailed by a dark past, one he’d sabotage the mission to escape. But the pirates claimed Otto’s life if anything goes wrong, and Delphine will do anything—even use the Captain’s past against him—to get the map and save Otto.

Summers spent in a bordello ought to have prepared Delphine better.

Though Hunter and his girls had always ensured Delphine did not see anything vulgar or unsightly, it was difficult to be ignorant when sitting around a dinner table amongst chattering girls. They told tales of their clients, giggling or rolling their eyes at wild requests from sailors. Hunter would shush them and send a pointed look in her direction, only goading them to spin even more dramatic and rather gruesome tales.

Delphine would blush, but she took the joy in their teasing gratefully; summers spent in Hunter's Bordello were only full of fond memories. But they should have prepared her better for the view she had walked in on.

This time, though, it was not Six whose face was bathed and baptized by light. It was Bash’s, his lone gold hoop gleaming amidst his curls, the spindly shadows of his lashes stretching over his dark eyes, and the sleeve of his linen robe where it draped from his arm rendered translucent by the sun’s rays. It was Bash who sat atop his regal, woody throne and passed judgment upon Jim.

Jim, his blond hair set aflame not by Kontrolle or diffuser but by the sun’s fleeting gift, stared back, waiting. Unlike Etienne, the King Reluctant, Jim had never been told he was the best. Unlike Six, the King Desirous, Jim had never needed to be the best. Unlike Bash, the King Apparent, Jim had never been the best.

Jim’s calling, his compulsion, was to be of use. That is all he had ever needed, wanted, or been. And it was Bash, now, to whom he wished to be useful.
