All archives are important 🫡

Streams are definitely important too!!

Saved as much as we could ❤️

Twitch (owned by Amazon) couldn't afford to pay AWS (owned by Amazon) to keep hosting them

DM me the details and I'll look into indexing them!

Ahh so glad to hear this!!!!

thank you for your scripts helping several communities as well! ❤️

Thanks to them for hosting the videos !

Specifically highlights that were publicly available around March-May 2025 on channels that had >100hr of content were archived, if that doesn't sound like you or you manually deleted content then it likely wasn't saved

Glad to help in any way I can <3

enormous thanks to arkiver for figuring out how to get my videos list saved 🙏

couldnt do it without the support of goats

I couldn't just let all those videos go <3

Thanks so much, please enjoy!!

well thats the thing, OP closed off the only officially listed communication source (the matrix) :'(

Thanks to Arkiver who managed this project and distributed my video lists to hundreds of archivers! I'm glad I was able to contribute to this, I finally feel at peace about not helping more with the old YouTube unlisted video purge ❤️

To download videos you can copy the IA stream link into yt-dlp

In May, Twitch deleted 100K speedruns among millions of other videos. With the help of ArchiveTeam and @archive.org we saved these speedruns and 500K+ other popular Twitch videos. My search tool for viewing these archives is now live! archive.speedrun.club

yeah OOP has a chosen name too so definitely no bad intentions, just fully didnt know at the time that the display name that was still actively being used to publish the crate was supposed to be changed until OP said so, else i'm sure it would've played out a bit more delicately

Certainly there are lessons to be learned though, I just think it's unfortunate how only one narrative of amateur redditors has prevailed

000

It sucks how it ended up but even OP has changed their mind on how it should've been handled, it was not at all clear what course of action was best, despite what the unhelpfully vague moderator summaries may suggest

Several people tried to reach out in private ever since the hosting migration and were ignored. Locations were raised by just one actor who was promptly reported by everyone involved and banned. Nearly all other information was things like "GitHub display name" or "CRATES.md authors"

I've also seen it used for archiving media, I guess assuming that the blockchain must protect them from copyright law and DMCAs lmfao?
