There are ~90K Twitch highlights submitted to speedruncom that are scheduled to be deleted. I'm personally mirroring as many as I can in HD to a new YouTube channel (with help from @notquiteapex.net) and working with ArchiveTeam to get a 480p archive (~100 TiB) into the Internet Archive!

My girlfriend plays a game that blocks you from naming characters inappropriately, but for some reason it blocks a ton of normal names like "Valerie" or "Fiona" or "Hailey" or "Squidward" or "Sean" so she asked me to look at the game's code to find out why… 🧵

what even does karl jobst have to gain by calling out 3 minutes of content from a nearly 3 year old video. a cheap segue? maybe, but wouldn't it've been more compelling if the segment was an example of how to "do it right"? wouldn't it embolden his later suggestions on how to "do it right"?

trans women are you actually following sketchy online name change guides which give you low res scientific studies to print out to petition to the court against having your name published in a newspaper or are you just paying someone to do it (and if so whats the cost)

"A kitten aboard a floating Victoria water lily pad in the Philippines, 1935." www.tumblr.com/natgeofound/...

Black and white photo of a shorthaired white and tabby kitten walking across an enormous lily pad. It's probably 5-6 feet across, I guess? And it has an upright border around the edge like a shallow creme brûlée dish. The kitten is strolling along casually, unconcerned and unimpressed by the marvel of nature it's walking on. In the pond behind the kitten you can see many more lily pads of similar size.
