great play from Elijah Ponder (91) on the first snap of the Bills' two-minute drive, down 3 points. so many other EDGEs having to mug the A gap then pop out and cover would let Kincaid cross their face for a big gain, but Ponder makes the stop

well that's nifty BUF move the TE across to the back in gun and leave the end unblocked ... makes it look like arc read, but it's a same-side give with the RB bouncing immediately. TE is out in front as a lead block.

I still don't think he's attacking the MoF with in-breaking routes very much from under center (not yet at least). It's a lot of boot, comebacks and flood concepts -- uses his arm talent to drive the ball w/o making him turn his back and read the MoF

Currently? Maybe. Only guy who wins in every phase, is explosive, and Im confident can handle the workload. I think Henry is an interesting case because while he’s less versatile, there is something to the effect he has over the course of a game and season

the hashes in CFB are farther apart than in the NFL. so then if the ball is on one hash, there’s way more space to the opposite side. less so in the NFL

same look for SF but now DEN *does* four man slide away from Warner and have the back cross protect scan. look at the RB's eyes before and right at the snap. DEN gets it blocked up and converts 3rd and 1 football is really cool

I don't think you're wrong in that being what he felt, but that's an NFL open receiver and an NFL standard clean pocket to me. Ball has to come out there imo. He turned down the same throw on the previous play

and off of that, you get plays like this one where SF has Warner walked down. DEN doesn't want to four-man slide away from him and cross protect w/ the back, gets DEN to "waste" an interior body when Warner pops out and now the back is overloaded by LB/nickel pressure

DBs are better/faster and you can't abuse space the same way because of the hashmarks. Only so many route combos you can run out of this stuff. Strips away so many run game concepts too.

Broncos IDL was sensational and DEN's game plan to fire LB/S into the C gap to get runs to cut back into that IDL was impressive. SF still popped a few, like the Deebo run, but overall such a good day considering the competition

The first three quarters of this game was some of the most impressive defense we've seen from anyone this season. They made the 49ers look regular. Just tough to project it moving forward now if Surtain and Moss are going to miss some weeks.

yeah they don't have enough pitches or talent w/o him. and weirdly even with him I think he limits their menu in some ways and invites volatility compared to what the D was last year with Demario Davis (which maybe says more about the ageless wonder than anything lol)
