The Franckesche Stiftungen in Halle hold, amongst other manuscripts, more than 200 palm-leaf manuscripts from South India. These manuscripts, written in Telugu and Tamil, contain Christian texts that were produced in Tamil Nadu as part of missionary activities from the 18th century onwards. /1

Most of the words I post as #WOTD are new to me. This is a quadriliteral verb formed by reduplication (from حزّ "remove", perhaps even زاح "go away"), in Form II quadriliteral verbs take a t-preformative, which normally has intrasitive-reflexive meaning, here however it's passive.
