But it juxtaposes well with his personal issues, and the issues of the Umbrella corporation and makes his solutions and adapting to the horror a character arc. It's peak comedy- bad things happening to a fool is comedy, while bad things happening to a genius is tragedy. Definitely a comedy here

I'd compare it to RE7 and 8, where the main character ISNT an idiot despite being a normal joe, and is pulled by things beyond his control into worse events. In this movie however, the idiot consistently pulls himself into worse situations by being hasty, gawking, and ill prepared for life.

I normally hate Idiot plots, where the plot only happens because the characters are idiots- but usually it's because they're supposed to be competent, i.e. Prometheus. Resident Evil 2026, however- is perfect. I'd compare it to Markiplier's Iron Lung. The main character IS an idiot, in good ways

His punishment is to have the materials beaten out of him as per infinitum as the easiest boss, to the point there are skits about him being upset about being beaten up daily in everyone's rotation grind. But yeah, the series is kind of Trails in terms of slap on the wrist for crimes.

I'm not 100% but it's apparently a mudra, a Kurana mudra or something. Rumiko Takahashi would use it jokingly as a shorthand for pain, fear, discomfort and since a lot of anime of that time is based on her works, it spread around a lot.

The game makes a point to show they still possess humanity, have interests, hobbies, relationships... But since they're all copies, they are administered- their psych profile preyed upon, and given expiration dates so they don't grow too out of parameters. Replaceable.

Revival being free for the most part, its kinda a more streamlined Etrian Odyssey for me, and the generics actually work well as a way to play it like classic Wizardry. Its kinda like Shin Megami Tensei DX2 if they made the dragonstream the whole game. It's also on steam, which is nice.
