I’m upset about something so I’ve started work on a short story

The Water Dream

At night, she would dream of dolphins. Even before she became aware of the wind and the rain and the chopping churning of the sea and the black angular rocks gleaming with algae blooms and slick with moisture, there were the dolphins. They did not look at her, seemed ambivalent utterly to her presence. They shifted through that water with uncanny ease and grace, sliding like a hand through air in the midst of water that would have dashed her body so easily on those jutting stones. Their sleek backs would break the surface and spray a jet of mist from their blowholes, loll lazily onto their sides as if to demonstrate mockingly to God how easily they overcame the sorrows, the mysteries, the turbulences. And then they would slip beneath that shattered black glass pane, disappearing, leaving her in the limitlessness of water below and above.
