@disabilitystor1.bsky.social some news from France. In addition to the high schooler who lost an eye to a stinger grenade, the drowning attempt on another, another minor lost his hand to a grenade thrown by a policeman this very morning. Testimonies from some of the 5000+ young people arrested-

Criteria
The two main symptoms of a major depressive episode are a depressed mood and a loss of interest or pleasure.[3] From the list below, one bold symptom and four other symptoms must be presented for at least 2 weeks for a diagnosis of a major depressive episode.

Weight loss or gain
Change in body activity (psychomotor changes)
Change in sleep
Depressed mood
Feelings of worthlessness and excessive or inappropriate guilt
Indecisiveness, confusion, or a decrease in concentration
Loss of energy
Loss of interest or pleasure
Suicidal ideation

and it updates its models when they are contradicted by evidence.

I mean it is part of physical reality. Most scientific evidence is gathered in labs. You state that women's struggle come from their biology, but nothing in life happens because of biology, the causality goes the other way around. Science is a cultural artefact that tries to systematize the world,

The identity of people isn't up to some biological model, or some cultural norm, it is an intimate matter.

pygy @py.gy · 14/08/2026
Sex identity (or the lack thereof) is one of these moving parts. Like sex orientation it is a social phenomenon (unless you're Narcissus), but it is impervious to educational and cultural influences. It can at worse be repressed, with tragically detrimental consequences.

However there are many exceptions that prove that sex chromosomes (the so-called "biological sex") are not an absolutely determining factor anywhere, from anatomy to behavior, even at the cellular level.

pygy @py.gy · 14/08/2026
Biology treats the sex dichotomy as a rough approximation. There are many moving parts that are most of the time correlated in a bimodal distribution, which motivates enough people to have reproductive sex and allows the species to perpetuate itself.

Humanity and human activity are part of nature. A phenomenon that happens in the lab is natural, even if it doesn't happen in the wild. More broadly, what I'm saying is that your binary characterization of people isn't sound in the light of state of the art science.

It proves that the binary model of sex is a poor abstraction of reality. Biology is descriptive, not prescriptive. The binary model is good enough for the general case, but it isn't an absolute rule. Trying to coerce people to follow the general case is asinine (and inherently fascist.).

I didn't say the success rate was 100%. This is a budding field. BTW, it isn't 100% either for standard IVF or plain fertilization. But even one counter example is enough evidence poke holes into a model.

We're not discussing grafts here, let's stay focused. Science is ripe with overgeneralization that is later corrected. You're peddling obsolete ideas that have been debunked ,and spreading transphobic hate based on them. Let go of your false beliefs, and re-evaluate the situation.

Yes, and chlorhydric acid and nuclear plants are woke nonsense. I gave you the facts, you don't seem to like them. Healthy mice resulting from male eggs and female sperm have already been birthed. For IVF, it took about 20 years to go from mie to humans, I'd expect a similar delay in this case.

It proves that the so-called "biological sex" binary is a rough model that doesn't fit reality very well. It describes tradition. You're conflating biblical myths and actual science. You just said sex was all about reproduction. Even for that purpose, the "biological sex" model doesn't hold.

There is a lot more to the biology of sex than just reproduction. Sex (or romantic) orientation, or the lack thereof, intersexuality, and gender identity are part of it too. Even at the cellular level, that model doesn't work: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Male_egg
