Having a pretty poor time with photography at the moment. I’m out of practice with birds, and it turns out I really can’t develop my own 35mm film without incident. BUT did get these pictures of Bar Tailed Godwits today (best name for a bird)

Ok, so what did we learn from trying to develop 35mm film? Mostly that fucking up putting it on the spiral is a really costly mistake. As is loading a camera incorrectly. But, also, once again, that you can do magic in your bathroom, which is wild.

Students at Aardman's Academy are also being taught to embrace imperfection in the painstaking art of stop-motion, where every blink, smile and movement is created by hand.
Art director Kitty Clay said a lot of the models are still being used 20 years after they were made.

Reading an absolute banger of an article (Duffy and Dorner - The Pathos of “Mindblindness”)

More specifically, we argue that while ToM literature purports to explain autism, it ultimately attenuates the humanity of autistic people by representing autistics as evolutionary deviant, hypothetical beings, and, ultimately, as tragic figures. The result is a novelistic, poetically intensified account of sadness—we call this a rhetoric of scientific sadness—in which autistic people are mourned even as they are apparently explained.
