I think, all things equal, I'd rather have Sepang on the Asian Le Mans Series calendar than the F1 one, but both would be nice.

PLM missed the opportunity to be as "the 10 Hours of Le Mans in Georgia" obviously.

Headlights! It has headlights now. I mean they're gonna need them at Silverstone.

Congratulations to Ferrari on winning the AsLMS/WLMS Hypercar title I guess

It's occurred to me that really Duqueine have the wrong McLaren junior because unlike Verschoor Leo Fornaroli has valuable "winning a championship without winning a race" experience.

Kind of a funny thing to say while also insisting that Sepang is definitely an outpost of Bahrain

No Doriane yet, but a ton of TBCs in LMP2 and separate Giorgio Roda and Duqueine entries, so not impossible either.

A more interesting question than hand warmers would be tyre warmers - bring them back as a one off like the ACO is doing in WLMS, or risk very high speed differences on outlaps?

Mildly surprising, inasmuch as it implies the existence of budgets at VAG that aren't currently being cut (or maybe somebody who wrote contracts cheaper to honour than to get out of on purpose....)

Certain amount of discussion of Jean-Pierre Jabouille, the first man to win an F1 GP in a turbocharged car. I'm just glad we're not getting in to the topic of the first driver to win one in an NA car, since that depends on what you think about the 1950 Indy 500....

This seems like weird F1 journalist wishcasting. Not the Max bit, S365 had that yesterday, but why would he need a third driver (Chris Lulham is still available) for a three hour race?

This is an excellent article explaining why the series is going to have, probably, two Hypercars, and definitely worth a read. Also this possibility I'd completely not heard of foiled only by the fact that Ajith Kumar is Not Very Good at prototypes.
A much anticipated Acura privateer entry came to nothing with the intended bronze (believed to be Indian film star Ajith Kumar) coming to the correct conclusion that Hypercar was a significant step ahead of where their driving abilities were.

F minus in clickbait here for S365 who leave their speculation that Max Verstappen might sub in for his eponymous GT3 team to the penultimate sentence of the article. (Also this is an interesting attempt by ACO/SRO to accomodate each other given the calendar clash) sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/b...

This weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix makes that event the 17th Formula One Grand Prix to be held at two different venues, but (I think) the first to be added to the list this century - the last event to add a second venue was the Australian Grand Prix, in 1997.

From the reporting it seems like the FIA got a surprisingly large amount of what they wanted (tbh some of this, like a larger role for the FIA in overseeing the ruleset, make sense, or at least would if the FIA was less corrupt). www.motorsport.com/wec/news/fia...

En Gaard! I would imagine he'll continue to beat all the McLarens and quite likely be Palou's closest rival in 2027 (given it was only ten points difference between him and Kirkwood this year, and Ganassi are definitely better than McLaren).

Oooo. The Citroen livery was already great but it turns out it works really well on the FE Gen4.
A Formula E Gen4 car in the Citroen red-chevrons-blue livery. It looks rad.

ACO be like: Two cars! That's enough for a race! (also enough to break the record for fewest hypercars in a race where Hypercar is a class).

GB3 has had something of an odd season. (It was, frankly, about time Deagen Fairclough stopped being a disappointment).
The top two drivers in GB3 this year's results; Nikita Bedrin won six of the first 12 races and got three second places, following which Deagen Fairclough has won six of the next nine races (all the non-reverse grid events); there are three races left.

My favourite oddity of this year - Haarni Sadiq's negative points total in British F4 - was under threat as he'd progressed to -2 and was running in 8th, but then his rear wing fell off so he's not going to be scoring any points...

Silverstone National, which is what British F4 is racing on this weekend, is a very odd circuit. Kind of feels like they were going to do a tri-oval but then remembered they were British.

Implicating the championship: Ahead of the last 2 rounds, #8 leads by 10 points from #7 and a further 4 from #20; Toyota lead by 25 points from BMW. My thinking is that Catalunya will be a Toyota circuit (somewhat similar to Bahrain) whereas Monza will very much not be (poor straightline speed).

I'm not....really convinced that Toyota deserved that, but if that's what it takes to get teams to stop overfuelling their cars on the final stints, it's a good thing.

Toyota's clearer-headed understanding of the situation with how long the safety car would last has given Hirakawa another advantage - not only does he have track position, he's also lighter.

If we either red flag and run out of daylight or safety car for too long because of barrier damage this will be one of the absolutely luckiest wins in the history of lucky wins for Toyota.

Ferdi Habsburg looks...a _bit_ tired, but much less knackered than I'd expect after a triple stint. I guess it being cold really does help. In which case Alpine's plan for two drivers should work well enough at the closing European rounds too.

The autocaption system has actually been pretty good this race so far but it has just suggested that Molina needs to get out and push.
A team radio box for the #50 Ferrari, driven by Miguel Molina. "OK, Let's Go. Foot push to the end. Race is over, basically. We've got stop. Race is over. Foot push. Watch the white line."

Yeah I'm not surprised that Shea Adam is reporting that Martins is managing a problem. I've never rated him as highly as most people do, but he's certainly not bad enough to have lost six seconds to Habsburg in the last 15 minutes with a functional car.

I know this is sort of beating a dead horse but it would be very interesting to see the BoP table and find out if the ACO have the Toyota at low power because it seems to be part of a fairly balanced BoP or if the car is just quite draggy (it does clearly have a lot of downforce).

The Aston/Toyota battle is fun because the Toyota is much slower in a straight line but (as always) has exceptional braking performance.

Toyota short-fuelled by about two laps to get the #8 out in front of the Caddy/Genesis there. They do seem to have better overall pace than everyone except Alpine so that might work.

Conventional wisdom is that double stinting tyres at Fuji is pretty difficult but practically de Vries and Tincknell have both done it and while both lost one place neither lost all that much time so I think the new Michelins are a bit more durable than the old ones.
