"Elegant" might not be a word that immediately comes to mind when talking about gulls, but it fits the Bonaparte's Gull. I have seen them in non-breeding plumage before, but this bird was the first one I've seen in breeding plumage with the dark hood, bold white eyeliner, and bright red legs.
