I had stopped drawing for over a decade, more-or-less given up entirely, and Destiny is what finally got me to pick up the stylus again. #Destiny2Art

A drawing of Heulog-12 in the air casting her Dawnblade, stylized with bright colors: the backdrop is a purple gradient, with half-tone action lines pointing at the sword. An ink-brush-like set of flaming wings flanks her, which have a purple-to-red-to-orange-to-yellow gradient. The lighting is very stark, and is especially noticeable on her metallic gold Luxe Soles, the light from the blade playing across the highlights in soft glow. The blade itself is rimmed in stylised ink-brush yellow-to-red flames bursting from the center and causing faint coronal lens flares.

A drawing of Eris Morn in her Hive-magic-begotten transformation. The lines are sketchy pencils, and the shading is raw. Her head is turned slightly up and to the side to face the viewer.

A drawing of Dûl Incaru, Hive Wizard and daughter of Savathûn, from the game Destiny 2, ruminating in her arena atop the tower of the Shattered Throne of Eleusinia.

A painting of Eris protecting herself as three Hive Wizards perform a ritual, holding Omar Agah aloft as he is transfigured into the weapon Xenophage. Toland also is there, in his already-transfigured Taken Wisp form.

Hello, #PortfolioDay! I'm Randy, a writer/artist with particular affection for engaging, emotional stories about monsters, robots, & other nontrad. characters. I'm looking for illustration/narrative work in games, esp. in the indie sector! Let's build something small together! 🔗: circlestrafe.net

A digital illustration of an Exo Warlock from Destiny. Her chassis is teal with brown/maroon markings on her shoulders, fingers, and a stripe down the middle of her face, where she also has a single horn protuding from her forehead. She is wearing an olive green dress with bits of lace, and her hands are up grasping her shoulders.

A colorful portrait of Dûl Incaru, Hive Wizard and daughter of Savathûn. The backdrop is a simple orange-pink-purple sunset gradient, and she is framed by scraped half-tone shading. She is surrounded by floating Hive runes, and above her head like a halo is a Hive summoning circle, the flames from which are rendered in a distorted half-tone pattern and rise up in the vague shape of a crown. The soulfire glow from her eyes is also rendered with this same distorted half-tone pattern.

Heulog holds herself as close as she can and continues to hum. She couldn’t yet form the vocalizations, and maybe would never be able to do so, but she hoped that for now the acrid notes alone would suffice. That through the burgeoning haze of unchecked anxiety Kysurax would be able to recall the invoking words and hear the earnest appeal to her inner strength, the words that define that strength as extant and obligate it to come forth, to inhabit her bones and manifest as the truest form of her will. The words that assert that she, as a single unified force of will and body—in defiance of all existence—shall persist.

Heulog feels the thrumming slow, its rhythmic cadence aligning with her own deep breaths. She gently removes her hand from Kysurax’s torso and feels the Wizard’s arms close around her, pulling her into a tight embrace.

“I am afraid,” Kysurax finally says, calm returned to her voice. “But I temper that fear with the certainty that I will be alright, because you are with me.” She looks down at the Exo in her arms, into the starblue flames that are her eyes, and smiles. “I do not doubt, for I have seen your heart. As you have seen mine. That is the power intrinsic to the Yielding Inquisition: there is no obfuscating act of misdirection, no factor of deceit that can withstand the abrading blade of trust conjured by the ritual. Truly, I have known you, and that secret knowledge is a weapon with which I joyfully flense and cast aside any and all flesh given over to the rot of doubt.”
