This is the "Dechets Animaux" from the local butcher - which is HER food (once cooked, normally) but, yeah... she will steal anything meaty if you turn your back for 1 second. Meanwhile my first Sphynx? You can leave her alone with an entire fried chicken and she won't touch it. (And yes, I did.)

Friend popped in just after lunchtime, and I was about to have lunch, so I asked if she wanted some. "Sure" This was lunch. :) I didn't realize she'd taken a pic. Plate was polished off, so it was good. :) (Turkey pot roast, with mushroom gravy, fusili and some bruxelles sprouts.)

I am sick to death of all those EV afficionados telling me "Why don't you get an EV?" This is what I get for €2000 within an 100km radius. The next EV up from that? SAME MODEL - €8000 The next one that's ACTUALLY a CAR? €14500 THAT is why I don't buy an EV!

You ignore the "MASS" in all of that. It's not "Animal" vs "Plant". It's MASS. I get my seasonal veg and eggs from the local farmers. I get meat from the local butcher when I can afford it. That's yesterday's shop. ZERO plastic. No mass production. All local. We need to get back to that.

My chickens had a TERRIBLE life. Terrible, I tell ya. Bad for everything. Truly bad. Destroying the land. All 2.5 hectares of it. My horses and the donkey are also totally abused and clearly bad for the land. All of these animals are suffering, you can tell.

Mass production of *anything* is bad. Period. And my "Free range eggs"? They come from the farms around me, chickens scratching in the dirt, doing their jobs in pest controlling. Yes, some end up in a pot. As you can see, my chickens had a truly TERRIBLE life. (Until the fox got hold of them.)

Meanwhile, in France... Fresh from the market. Total cost €5.20 1kg new potatoes, 500g spring onions, 1 large red pepper, 6 free range farm eggs laid today. All of it organic and poison free. My loaf of bread (750g, but artisanal bread) cost more than the veg!
