This analysis ties to my belief that Hell is punishment for Lucifer first and for sinners second, as them indulging in their sin makes them more visible to Lucifer (see what his actions have done). That and the fact that most sinners are taller than him, which is hilariously petty if intentional.

I'd like to point out that Lucifer has already "hit" Alastor twice (Champagne Beam and Rubber Duck). So he can still defend himself from Sinners just as long as he doesn't hurt them. Either that or Al's behaviour is already classified as demonic so he can be hurt by Lucifer.
