When we got this fuzzball she was starving and dehydrated, and we've fed her with a syringe because she wasn't weaned properly. I wasn't expecting to start sobbing like a baby when she started eating independently this morning but whatever. She got so tired eating on her own that she fell asleep.

I think that a big part of suddenly becoming the caretaker for an 8 week old kitten has been learning to accept that sometimes everything will smell like poop, and there's nothing I can do about it, and that's okay.

One of the most fun things is how budget cuts have caused my local health insurance to shut down this year, but I misread their notice and thought my health insurance would disappear on the 1st of July so I spent 3 days in fear trying to find new insurance but it actually goes away on December 31st
