but yeah incoming is fucked up in this game. At least you get a chance to block this one - several characters have moves that are just straight up unblockables on their own lol Or like how my character can meaty a command grab that reverses your directional inputs 🙃

Being alone at the gym at like 3 AM is mega peaceful mode. Lol I'mma just be listening to Castlevania and vtuber music, farting on the treadmill like there's nothing that can perceive me

Tonight I was listening to Billy ocean's Caribbean Queen (yes) and I legit thought that the laugh sample he used in it was from the original Strider's grandmaster laugh loool Obviously it can't be, apparently it's the same thing that's in Thriller

Kayin I just got back from jogging outside, and it feels weird that people probably perceived me as a responsible adult but I haven't actually been to bed I took a long nap earlier, so that's why this is unusual lool

often overlooked strength of Aria imo is the goated sound design that game has. The satisfying gushy noise that sword hits make is soooo good Also hello, how in the world did I not follow you until now what the hell 😵‍💫 a friend pointed it out to me even lmao

something about SF4 still feels like Christmas morning to me. Especially the vibe when I hear the "drive in at night" stage song. Huge era and turning point for fighting games 3 is a work of art for sure but I didn't want to play it much 😅 If I could just have the footsies of it without parry, yes

PuriWS @SQXL @purifyws.bsky.social · 26/07/2025

maybe personally isn't the right word, because my subjective enjoyment leans more in the Alphas, but 6 wins like overall as a product, thoughtful design, balance, work put into the animation, all those things. It's such a crazy package Only things holding it back are music and minor gameplay gripes

PuriWS @SQXL @purifyws.bsky.social · 26/07/2025

heheh at first I thought this was referring to costumes because I just saw something about Sagat (he had the brown cloak deal in SF5) imagining the outrage at a yassified Sagat is very funny, or well I mean, just funny in general Anyway yeah I personally think 6 is the best SF ever honestly

LRT: Mário's Belmont's Revenge mockups are sooooooo good I'd wondered if after Adventure ReBirth (and now HC Revisited) that M2 eventually gets around to doing some of the other less-appreciated games DotEmu is also a candidate, and Mário/artists like him have worked with them before too...

but what's unfortunate actually btw, is how classicvania seems to be thought of as a rough boomer genre. I love what Bloodstained is doing there, but seems to be a tougher sell for new audiences than other classic things Feel like there's room for something to blow up there, some breakout title...

Guilty Gear being like this too on its smaller scale is also wild Baldur's Gate!!! looool. That was definitely unexpected, perhaps tied with From Soft but anyway, rougelike/soulslike/metrdoidvania being so popular is fine with me. People decided they like video games, so

dang that Yuri is cool yeah imagine Yuri but this time the SF stuff she copies is...Gouken?? All the SF4 09ers that I keep seeing wanting him back could get on that. In either case, she needs to finally move on from the demon flip stuff. It was fun but not like her to be the same for so long
