Jade Velfire is a wonderful person. She's kind, funny and brilliant. She's worked hard to surround herself with a community of equally vibrant and wonderful people. I'm really proud to have met you all.

In the time I've known her, I've seen her do incredible things and support so many people. I've heard her talk about her dreams and passions. One day, she'll achieve them and she deserves them.

I've been banned from that community after an argument. It was a cold ban, the out-on-your-ass kind, so I can't tell you why with any clarity. But usually, we tend to think of the person who was banned as being guilty. And, given that I've been banned from a bunch of places this year without any explanation... *shrug*. Maybe I deserve it. Maybe I just have sour vibes. Yucky.

There's no twist here.

I'm a good person, but they don't give out PhDs for best intentions or well wishes. You have to be good *at* being a person.

The fact that I'm being nice in the wake of being banned doesn't make me look any better. It makes me look suspicious, deceptive, weak or spineless. We're trained for conflict, so grace looks as stupid as defiance. But it's not. It's just how I feel, and that's the end of it. I genuinely wish I'd been lucky enough to be born as someone else; someone who, all things considered, could have become Jade's friend for life. I wasn't, that's not how things were meant to be. It's a bit shit, really.

However, I hate dirt on people. I don't hold grudges well. I genuinely believe in love and I hope you -- the people in the forest who are close to her -- take as much care of each other as you can.

I want you to be kind to me, too. I'm a strange creature, and you aren't like me. But I don't deserve pain, and the power dynamic is not in my favour.

Very pretty screenshot from Guild Wars 2. My character was captured in this screenshot during their idle animation, in a way that looks subtle and naturally posed, with her weight on the front foot. There is depth and contrast to the image, with grass in the foreground, curved porous rock in the middle distance and some unusual, cuboid glowing technology in the background. It's very pretty and I'm very excited about it.

There are so many parts to this survey I can't post them all, but I wanted to post this one because I took some time to fill it out and I wanted to save it somewhere.

- An age-based ban erases entire online communities who cannot provide their content and comply with the regulations.

e.g. A pretend social media website, ImageTeach.web, hosts thousands of images every year. It has become popular for Teachers to freely and quickly upload their lessons and slideshows on obscure subjects, as well as communities to discuss them. Many students of all ages take their courses. An age-based ban is enforced, and the website is threatened with fines. ImageTeach.web does not have the resources to comply with the ban, and shuts down its UK servers and blocks UK-based internet traffic. ALL UK STUDENTS NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO A REPOSITORY OF TEACHING MATERIAL.

- Thousands of barriers are placed between people online based solely on age. People intend on crossing those barriers will use expensive VPNs to buy their way across, rendering the ban useless. Others will be unable to cross the barrier, and become dependent on people with money. THIS CREATES A CORRUPT POWER DYNAMIC.

Philosophically speaking, an age-based ban creates age-based outlaws. It does not fix any of the problems it attempts to fix, and creates many more in the process.

Consider and alternative; age-based creches. Federated in nature, with the ability to migrate a users account to another creche. Large groups of children, various ages, self-regulating an online experience, under the guidance -- but not authority -- of vetted and trained community professionals. Encouraging the use of #tags to reduce the visibility of harmful, sponsored and unwanted content, while keeping open discussion of what may and may not be allowed.

Make creches a CONVENIENT way for children to get access to what they want. Be casually smart about it. Design something worth showing up for every day.

DO NOT TRY TO PREVENT ACCESS TO THINGS. This will trigger reverse psychology and harm millions over decades.

Saying she would like to be a "shoulder to lean on" and that she didn't want to "reopen old wounds" was probably sincere. Nevertheless, telling someone you think they lied to you because they are a compulsive liar, is like saying you think someone swore at you because they have coprolalia.

A Discord DM from Rain to Pug. It reads: "Hey Pug after I'm done with stream I wanna talk with you about what happened at the end of last month. I was hurt pretty badly about it and then the other day I saw your treat [sic] about being a compulsive liar and that puts me on major edge with me never really getting an answer on what I did do.

I'm not trying to come off attacking or that I'm trying to reopen wounds but I do want to know what is going on and try to be a shoulder to lean on rather than doing what people are telling me I SHOULD do. I had discussed it with my mods and they want me to ban you outright but if possible I'd like to try and talk this out with a clear head."

A Discord DM. This is the message: "I'm a little hot-headed right now so I apologise in advance if this comes across as rude. I feel humiliated and disliked every time I try to have a conversation with you, and it's stressing me out a lot.

There's a lot I want to say about that, but right now I'm just communicating that to you. It feels like there's an undercurrent of "duh, you stupid idiot." I'm used to feeling that way in normie spaces. I'm used to feeling anxious too around people I don't trust, so I totally don't blame you for that reaction

I'm genuinely sorry if / for anything I've said or done that might be the cause of this. I'm trying really hard to calm down, be patient and listen, in case.

But I don't want anything from you, I just don't want to feel stressed out just by existing in what should be (if you'll forgive the assumption, and I hope you'd agree with me on this) a safe space.

Edit: one more thing, if you've got bigger problems, I understand. Yes you should take care of yourself and yours first; I'm just one person and I can tank it for a bit longer."

One of my favourite parts of pug's redesign so far. This is from a file on the old PC so I haven't had much time to work on it.

I really liked how this sketch of Pug turned out. Unfortunately, I drew it too small, so I had to upscale and filter it. I painted over it a bit to hide some of the filters. Still... I love this feeling. I think Pug looks pretty here.

Decided to have a bash at a new avatar painting of Pug. Started out as a 5 minute sketch and then I accidentally finished it. It does not look good as a circle!
