How One Fridge Magnet Became an App? I’ve collected fridge magnets for years — tiny proof of a trip. Then I realized: the souvenirs were right there, but the memories were lost in my phone. What if one object could bring the whole trip back? That became MagnetStory. It begins here: #travel #magnet

My friend sent me this. She used my app to record the new souvenir coins she just got. From a cartoon called Bluey. And add screenshots from the work. I’ve never watched this cartoon, and it seems pretty cute, should I start watching it? 🤔 #bluey #widget #fanart #coincollection #MagnetStory

Exactly, even from ancient charms, they say, “name the thing first”. Which is actually definition.

5. Stop talking. Just shoot, just practice. 6. Fake it till you make it.

Clare Puffinwalker @puffinwalker.bsky.social · 23/04/2026

1. Play to your strengths. 2. Find the right people and align with the times. 3. Keep practicing and refining quality work, even if it's a 1-minute ad. 4. The first step to solving a problem is defining it. We identified fear as the first hurdle — work with a relaxed mindset.

Just watched an interview with Ridley Scott. He said he started a company at 27, shot 2,000 commercials, and only began making theatrical films at 40. I'm not a die-hard fan, but I love the original Blade Runner. 👇 My 6 Key takes:

Wash ur own brain, forget about ur app once it’s done. Use it like first time knowing nothing. You’ll see how much u’ve got and how far u’re missing.

Just submitted new version with new on-boarding. Waiting to be approved. Did I fully achieve that? Probably not. But hope I’m on the right track and this trick works every time:

Clare Puffinwalker @puffinwalker.bsky.social · 23/04/2026

On-boarding is trying to make the user feel GOOD about things they make, their own stories, their own success. And your job is just to make that happen easier for them. Much easier. This is way simple said than done.

010

Clare Puffinwalker @puffinwalker.bsky.social · 23/04/2026

Things I learned from several days absent, re-doing my on-boarding: On-boarding is way MORE than just tutorial. It is actually the first time a user gets to try your app, so think about it as a blind date. Do you really think you gonna show them something? Nope.

That's scene-building, not storytelling. Scene is for conception; story is for commerce. Both matter. The first is rarer.

Vannevar Bush, in the 1940s, mastered what I call "technological translatability"—rendering radical ideas legible to all. A clever desk. A better memory. No jargon, just a world you'd want to step into.

If you use GitHub (especially if you pay for it!!) consider doing this *immediately* Settings -> Privacy -> Disallow GitHub to train their models on your code. GitHub opted *everyone* into training. No matter if you pay for the service (like I do). WTH github.com/settings/cop...

I watched the movie Project Hail Mary today, and I like it a lot! It is lighthearted, unconventional. No clichés, no grand heroism, no stereotypical. The relationships feel raw and original, just a story of being seen and connected. Overall, a witty, easygoing sci-fi worth recommending!
