The CDC has issued a clinical update on rabies prophylaxis, including a link to a rabies prevalence in animals checker, which I noodled around with. I applaud the wording for large, unspecified rodents kellycharniga.shinyapps.io/RabiesRiskTo...

Walking the dog through Cape May County Park North. Just an incredibly beautiful park on a clear day
Looking across a lake. Blue sky reflected in blue water. Green foliage, white clouds, and a near perfect reflection that would look almost the same upside down.Bright red leaves of a Japanese Maple against a royal blue sky with a dead tree in the backgroundWater lilies, looking ready for Monet to paint them.

In the past couple of days my allergies went from unrelenting to gone. I am not, apparently, allergic to whatever is in bloom right now. So I went out and photographed wildflowers.

Slide 38, first paragraph, all adults including elderly. second paragraph, just the 18-64 year olds. second paragraph, second line. Over the entire 7-299 day period the number of er visits in 18-64 year olds was reduced by 20%. Also who is coercing vaccinations?
slide 38, second paragraph, second line shows that in 18-64 year olds over the entire period monitored (7-299 days) the vaccine reduced ER visits by 20%.

The second section is adults age 18-64, which does not include the elderly. The study on slide 41 did not ask about immunocompetence, and probably included some in both vaccinated and unvaccinated groupd, neither page 38 or 41 excluded people with pre-existing conditions.

Fall in New York. Goldenrod, Poke berries and a field of yellowing kidney beans. One glorious sunny day after another. We’re in the midst of a New York drought, which means that its only rained a few times in the last month. I expect it’ll be a great year for finger lakes wine.

The Erie canal in Bushnell’s Basin is lined with black locust trees in full flower. Trees 60-100’ high, bedecked and fragrant, the canal and towpath strewn with white petals
The canal, full of muddy brown water, and on the opposite bank tall trees that look to have each green leaf outlined by white flowers.

Dogs shouldn’t eat chocolate because if they do scarf down that slice of chocolate cake you left on the counter they’re going to dig up half your garden. Speaking from experience.

Payton has gotten away from me before. She’s also slammed me against a tree chasing deer and dragged my husband on his back through a patch of poison ivy. But look at those sweet brown eyes. When not after game she’s a sweetheart.

intrigued, I found a copy on gutenburg.org. After learning that they are bankrupt, four (previously rich) orphan girls face the prospect of earning their daily bread.
Getting up at noon and then dwaddling away the hours until midnight is all very well for those who like it, but not for mine!

Perinton off leash dog park. Asters, ripe bunches of wild grape on yellowing vines. Suck out the sweetness and spit the seeds. Mia played frisbee till she stepped on something. Limped back to the car and forgot her foot was sore after a dip in the stream.

Decided to walk a section of the Auburn rail-trail I hadn’t been on before. Turned out to be on a narrow ridge crossing a river valley. Must have been quite the feat to build! Returned with wet feet and a very wet dog, thanks to an overly optimistic weather forecast. Still worth it.

I was curious enough about this to check some of the data at the Federal Reserve of St Louis. Apparently the sales prices of homes is going up steadily over time, and the average mortgage payment as a fraction of disposable income is still fairly low.

Trying to remember how long it’s been since we redid the kitchen. Doing it by remembering how old/which grade the kids were in at the time. Daughter probs a jr or senior in HS, 10ish years! Just got an estimate for refinishing floor. Barker cabinets still lovely, great workmanship.
kitchen shot with terrible floor and beautiful cabinets. Corner cabinet with deep lazy-suzan. Faked-out microwave / toaster oven hutch created by putting full length panels on either side of equal-depth base and upper cabinets. open shelves with mug hooks.
