[ 2023 #art / #ocart / #ocsky ] Posting both my main stars of the show I've fixated on #OC wise! This being the iteration for their #NSR AU verse(s) for now First is Ishtar💖 The different forms they can shift to (& performance gear) ✨ #nsroc #nostraightroads #nostraightroadsoc #OC:IshtarCelis

A reference showcasing the NSR OC, Ishtar, in two of their forms. There's two versions for each of these forms to show the change in palette from night (the purple-hot pink-almost white gradient) to day (the purple-pink-gold gradient). Their first phase is mostly fully human, & the second is a mix between human & alien (with the space patterns on their arms/legs, part of their face & ears showing, as well as a tail & clawed alien feet & hands, tentacle "hair", visible long fangs, glowing markings, tendrils along the base of their tail & back, & fin-like ears). They can be seen wearing revealing witch themed performance gear (a witch hat, revealing leotard with a heart cut out on the chest, fingerless gloves, & thigh high boots with space like accessories & pink/gold accents).

The text reads: "Public/Stage name: Ishtar
Full name: Nyx-Ishtar Celis
Primary Genre: Trance & Psytrance
They/Them
NSR Artist
Charter Verse: Charter of the Astral Aether District

Closeup of what Ishtar looks like, showcasing the differences across the 4 different phases they have between fully human to fully alien, & the other two forms between that (which still feature some of their human-like skin tone).

The text reads: Character overview
Ishtar | Full name: Nyx-Ishtar Celis

NSR Verse(s) info: An alien musician raised in Veracruz, Mexico, whose made significant strides in the EDM scene despite the cards initially being stacked against them, making a name for themselves especially in the trance/psytrance scene. Combining their interests in the occult & music would bring about a unique flair to their own sound they’d create—the avenue through which they’d express themselves, & as such they’ve come a long way throughout the years as a musician from back in Mexico all the way to their status now as a charter in Vinyl City. Despite everything they’ve endured, despite being victim to the sheer corruption & dark sides of the industry & the downsides of fame they still face, they’ve persevered, continuing to pursue their passions through which they truly come alive. Having risen above the several hardships & circumstances they were dealt, in they end they’ve attained the position they are in now… Albeit such a journey has, unfortunately, made them wall themselves off—becoming distrusting of most. Despite the generally lighthearted & at times flirty disposition they uphold to those who don’t know them well, such a persona is merely just the surface—for there’s another side to them that’s much more personal, vulnerable—a more passionate & intense side that only those who get to know them start to really see.

Info for other verses TBA

[ #art / #ocart ] Friend & I were speculating on a collab between Ishtar & their NSR #OC, for both non-charter & charter AU versions of both! SO, designed an outfit Ishtar would wear for a collab w their OC for both verses 💖 #nsroc #nostraightroadsoc #nsr #nostraightroads #OC:IshtarCelis

An Illustration depicting performance collab outfits for Ishtar, meant to match outfits with another OC. The first outfit shows the text: "Collab outfit reference (When collabing with KK*, under the Neon Starchasers duo name) (* = @breadboxdraws' oc), Whereas the second outfit shows the text "Charter AU-Collab outfit (outfit to match charter AU KK's/DJ Apotheotic's, @breadboxdraws' OC). There is text to indicate both shaded & flatcolor versions of the outfits. Each of them are black with neon accents, although the first outfit has pink, green, & gold accents along with light projection wings that are pink, whereas the second has white glowing accents only, along with light projected wings that are white with a pink glow. Both outfits are somewhat revealing & feature Visors, & the first outfit has more star-like themes whereas the second has an aesthetic more akin to Tron's outfits.

[ #art / #ocart ] Alt. more "casual" outfit for Ishtar! (... Casual for them at least LOL) Figure they had this outfit in the past too (hence the "past self" version on the left) & just got a new version in recent history #nsroc #nostraightroadsoc #nsr #nostraightroads #OC:IshtarCelis

An Illustration of the OC, Ishtar, showcasing two versions of them, A past & present version. Both sport a more casual, glittery outfit while in their human form. The outfit consists of a black crop top with a pentagram shape for the straps & off shoulder drapes, a choker with a crescent moon at the center, crescent moon earrings, black fingerless gloves, a black mini-skirt, & black thigh highs with a pentagram garter on one leg. The inside of the witch hat, as well as outfit accents, are an indigo-pink-gold gradient, & the heels of the boots are in the shape of a crescent moon.
The text next to their past self reads: Past self (approx 5+ years ago): Shorter hair, dimmer star freckles, single ear piercing
The text next to their present self reads: Present day (has newer version of this outfit): Longer hair (Swept to 1 side), vibrant star freckles, double lobe piercing + industrial

Illustration of two OCs hanging out among the city lights at night.
One of the characters in question is KK, a character with blue skin, pink irises, pointed ears, & white hair slicked back, along with a single silver earring on his visible ear. He's wearing a space-themed polo shirt with star patterns & star-shaped buttons, pink shades, a light purple belt with a star-shaped buckle, & purple glittering pants. He can also be seen with a silver bracelet in one hand featuring a dragonfly pendant, along with star-shaped pendants, holding a phone up as if to take a selfie while smiling, glancing over at the other character. His other hand, which has a neon pink & neon green glow bracelet, is behind the other character, making "bunny ears" behind them.
The other character is Ishtar, with a tan skin tone, freckles that look like stars on their face, pointed ears, pink irises with heart pupils, purple to pink to white gradient hair swept to the side, & pointed nails. They can be seen with pink, glittering eyeshadow & lipstick, as well as tattoos along their forehead, chest, & the side of their thigh. They appear to be wearing moon-shaped earrings, a space themed glittering dress that has an opening along the chest & a golden sash along the center of it, along with a bralette underneath that glitters being visible through the chest opening. There are slits on the side of the dress with golden chains, & there are matching arm sleeves on the dress that leave the shoulder open. One arm of Ishtar's appears to be draped over KK's shoulder as they lean into him, smiling for the phone camera, whereas another is held up in a peace sign position, with a 4 tiered beaded bracelet given to them by KK. Double fangs can be seen with their smile.

A waist up illustration of an NSR OC, named Zenith. He is a robot with grey skin & white hair, white irises in the shapes of stars amidst black sclera, iridescent white hair, & plating on his cheeks with the same white iridescence, antenna like headphones where his ears would be, & a star-shaped core at the center of his chest. He appears to be wearing a cropped jacket, which has iridescent plating on the shoulders & is rolled up to the sleeves, with sleeveless gloves over his forearms. There are also earrings visible in the shapes of stars, along with purple, semi-opaque pointed shades that sit on his face. There is also a shirt underneath the open jacket that is a crop top, which has an opening showcasing the aforementioned star-core. He is depicted making a heart shape with his fingers on one of his hands, & amidst a space-themed abstract background, which is also purple in hue. There are stars to the left side of the character in the image.

A pinup-esque illustration of an alien NSR OC, named Galaga, who is dressed up in x-mas holiday attire & reclining against a sizable holiday wreath. She is wearing a ribbon-themed red dress with a large white bow along the top that hangs off the shoulders, & at the very center is a star shape. There are red ribbons tied to the first pair of arms on her wrists, & in one hand she is holding a red gift box with golden ribbon. The second pair of arms features red gloves on each of them, with one hand extended out holding a mistletoe with ribbon. She is wearing black boots & red ribbon along her tail that ends in a star-like shape, & she can still be seen with her star septum piercing & industrial piercing. The wreath she is seated on is green, with red ornaments, some resembling the planet saturn, & there is a red ribbon at the very top with a golden star adorning it. In the background there is a star & planet shaped symbol outline, one on each side of the wreath, & there are snowflakes both on the background & some touching the wreath as well. She can be seen glancing at the viewer--it is to be noted she has four eyes.

An illustration of an NSR OC phoebe, who is depicted on what appears to be a stage-like background, with curtains to the side along with several flowers, specifically lilacs, in small bushes to the sides of her, & warm stage lighting shining on her.
The character is an object head with a green ringed planet for a head & darker skin, with a lilac flower crown placed atop the center of her head. She is wearing a golden beaded necklace as well as a dress with long, off the shoulder sleeves, with the top being a cream color & the bottom half being an olive green hue & more form fitting compared to the top half. The dress is rather long, & there are ruffles along the neck line of the dress, & at the center of her chest is a dark green bow that appears to glitter, along with a flower shaped pendant at the center of it with white 'petals' & a golden brooch at the center. Along the sleeves there are green ruffles extending out as well which match the color of the bow, & the character's nails appear to be painted in a similar coloration as well. There are two rings seen on the character's left hand. In front of the character there is a golden microphone, to which she appears to be singing into with her hands extended out.

[ 2023 #art / #ocart ] RP stuff made me think a bit about how Ishtar's cosmic energy manipulation abilities could manifest, so I made this to showcase that (& the other images here & thread below explain this more in depth) 1/3 #nsroc #nostraightroadsoc #OC:IshtarCelis #nsr #nostraightroads #oc

A sketch page illustrating the ways in which an OC (Ishtar) uses their cosmic energy manipulation ability. The visual showcases sketches of ranged celestial themed attacks with stars, comets, & planetary constructs that release shockwaves, as well as their ability to use cosmic energy to form star barriers for defense, celestial themed tendrils that can strike, as well as cosmic energy blasts, each with descriptions on how they work.

A graphic describing the cosmic energy abilities in the previous image. The text reads: "Cosmic Energy Manipulation / Examples of how it manifests. Capable of creating cosmic constructs through energy they obtain from the cosmos, which can take the form of weapons, attacks, instruments, or different objects they wish to create with it, each always bearing a space or astrology theme to it. Additionally, they’re fully able to imbue items/people with enchantments through their cosmic energy, especially with zodiacal enchantments. This helps make their witchcraft much more effective/potent for enchantments, but also carries the risk of rendering it completely useless if they slip up.

In combat, they channel this through stardust imbued tentacles/tendrils that can pierce/strike, ranged cosmic energy attacks & blasts, & stars/planets/zodiacal themed constructs composed of cosmic energy that can strike an opponent &/or cause damage. Their cosmic energy also is used to channel arcane circles that operate akin to synthesizers, used to play their music & guide their magic in performances, though with this it's imperative they know what runes to sign on them with their fingertips & dance movements to incorporate into their rhythm & magic.

Whenever they fuse magic with their performances, ALL their glowy magic will move & brighten or dim in sync with the beat they’re playing (in addition to the magic that illuminates the entire field & forms a glowy astrological circle under them). Their magic will always give off stardust-like glitter effects in the trails it leaves behind as well, or has tiny “stars” or illusory “constellations” that radiate off of it (touching these constellations will leave the person with a sort of temporary space or zodiac themed halo atop their head). "
