like, Robert Kraft banned Macklemore over "Free Palestine," but literally "Heil Hitler" isn't getting Kanye dropped from the same stadium

here's something for @jonbois.bsky.social to think about...since you can get negative points in fantasy football, is there a world record for lowest overall season points? is it possible to get e.g. -100 points in a game?

The Onion has created a machine that will kill everyone on Earth that is coincidentally running out of money and the only way to slow it down is if my staff and I take a six-week vacation to Cabo San Lucas.

Working for the LLM companies must be so easy, you go on social media and post something like "I'm afraid to tell you that we are dangerously close to creating the AI that sucks you off... thread carefully 1/2" "AHHHHhhh THe Ai Is SUCKin ME offff!!! 2/2" and wait for the paycheck

yeah but companies won’t even hire senior devs for senior positions so idk how the fuck we’re supposed to actually eat anymore

that’s great to know tbh i thought the state of the linux desktop app ecosystem was still a bit more fragmented. sidenote: i’m really not sure why everyone is so hype on omarchy…what’s the value add? can’t i replicate what it gives me by following the (very well made) arch wiki guides?

i knew it was a standard format for shipping linux apps, been around for a while, but i haven’t been keeping up to date...the idea here is its distro-agnostic and i can ship a flatpak & have it work pretty much everywhere?

Tom Phoolery @psychedeli.ca · 10/09/2026
does anyone actually use flatpak?

for reference documentation it’s pretty straightforward…i want paragraphs in english describing the code in some function or class or whatever. that’s mostly what i’ve used it for.

Tom Phoolery @psychedeli.ca · 09/09/2026
how is that ironic at all? (FYI i misspoke…i am fully capable of writing code on my own, i meant like AI-assisted coding here)

bluesky & atproto actually do use oauth, but your appview might log you out frequently because it doesn’t implement confidential sessions. this is an extra step but allows the session to persist exponentially longer without re-authenticating. i don’t get logged out constantly.

nullsoft W.A.S.T.E. was invented in 2003. polyamory was added to the oxford english dictionary in 2006. much like World War I, this is an example of technology moving faster than the morality of our minds…

anyone mess with this before? i was looking for a good CLI that generates jwks for atproto confidential oauth sessions. this is becoming table stakes for apps and isn’t exactly intuitive imho… github.com/nao1215/jose

i should probably just make her a little program that generates the passwords according to rules but she can write the passwords down herself. that way she isn’t making up derivative stuff that can be guessed or something..

Tom Phoolery @psychedeli.ca · 04/09/2026
yeah i did that too but i honestly had to give her kudos for keeping her passwords written down in a paper book and locked in a safe bc like you can’t hack that unless you literally burgle her house…like how am i supposed to argue that? xD it’s foolproof!

jetstream v2 needs 4TB for replay/resync or something? we should borrow from bittorrent and source the data from other places when its needed, otherwise do we really need to download all history of every account if it will never be used?
