I'm pissed at myself for allowing the stress at my last job to lead to an excuse to pick up smoking again after two fucking decades. As I think about how to wind down again towards quitting and my general lack of self control, would any smokers out there buy this? You stop 1/2 way if you want.

I think we share a feline magician? I swear, my family picked up a couple of kittens a few weeks ago and that same cat in that basket just brushed by my leg in Central PA no less than 5 minutes ago. If she is back there in the PCW, ask her how she does it for me?

And I swear again, I was not typing anything I was typing in bad faith and I know I was being imprecise as hell, but is it insulting to for me to think I've been a P/T para-something all of these years under the guise of a title like "Director of Facility Contracting" and was too dumb to know it?

And right off the bat, this doesn't seem helpful. I don't know how to say this right, but like, sure, whether or not someone is literally made of feces is an objective fact, but I don't feel like we're dealing with an "objective fact" here. Piece of shit is clearly just rhetorical.

was A) not literal and B) speech that fails under the protections of the 1st amendment. Cite the most appropriate case(s) that would apply." How awful is this?
Screenshot from Gemini which reads: Dear [Attorney Name or Celebrity Name],This letter responds to your recent cease and desist demand regarding an online comment in which my client referred to [Voice Actor's Name] as a "piece of shit." This statement constitutes protected speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, as it is a non-literal, hyperbolic insult that cannot reasonably be interpreted as a statement of objective fact. Therefore, your claims of defamation or actionable tort are entirely without legal merit, and no further action will be taken.Under long-standing First Amendment jurisprudence, vulgar insults, name-calling, and generalized pejoratives do not constitute actionable defamation. To sustain a defamation claim, a plaintiff must demonstrate that the statement at issue asserts a provably false statement of objective fact. The U.S. Supreme Court confirmed in Milkovich v. Lorain Journal Co. (1990) that speech is constitutionally protected if it "cannot 'reasonably [be] interpreted as stating actual facts' about an individual."Calling an individual a "piece of shit" is a classic example of non-literal rhetorical hyperbole and a "vigorous epithet." No reasonable reader interpreting the comment in its digital context would conclude that the speaker was making a literal, biological assertion about [Voice Actor's Name]’s physical composition, nor would they interpret it as a specific accusation of criminal or professional misconduct. The Supreme Court has consistently protected similar vituperative speech under the rhetorical hyperbole doctrine. In Greenbelt Cooperative Publishing Ass'n v. Bresler (1970), the Court held that characterizing a developer's negotiating tactics as "blackmail" was not defamatory because even the most careless reader would realize it was merely a vigorous epithet. Similarly, in Old Dominion Branch No. 496, National Association of Letter Carriers v. Austin (1974), the Court ruled that using the word "scab"—defined in …

Must share pics, I'm so damn pleased with a little side project I just finished. I needed new high-end bowling shoes (interchangeable slide pads) but most of the new stuff looks like I should be wearing them with my feet kicked up on my desk on the cover of Nintendo Power. So, I made my own.
A picture of the Adidas VL Court 3.0 shoes I converted to bowling shoes. The bottom of the slide shoe is shown to highlight the Dexter S10 slide pad and Dexter S7 heel pad along with a couple of additional slides pads which I decorated with Penn State logos using a stencil and sharpies. A front view pic of the slide shoeA view of the back of the shoes showing the Penn State oval logo I glued to the top of the back of each shoe. A view of the bottom of the slide shoe showing the slide pads once again as well as a piece of fabric I used from a used PSU tie purchased from Ebay, I used it to fill the space between the two slide pads, somewhat resembles a jacket liner.

That seemed like important context and I was curious because I got a steady dose of The Eagles driving with my Dad as a kid. I am seeing that he testified himself at some other trial just a couple of years ago that he called for the girls himself? www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...
screenshot of text from linked article: "Don Henley testified on Monday that a “poor decision” led to his arrest in 1980, when authorities said they found drugs and a 16-year-old sex worker suffering from an overdose at the rock star’s Los Angeles home.

Henley was asked about the arrest as he testified at a criminal trial surrounding what he says were stolen, handwritten draft lyrics to Hotel California and other Eagles hits.

Henley said he called for a sex worker on a night in November 1980 because he “wanted to escape the depression I was in” over the breakup of the superstar band.

“I wanted to forget about everything that was happening with the band, and I made a poor decision which I regret to this day. I’ve had to live with it for 44 years. I’m still living with it today, in this courtroom. Poor decision,” the 76-year-old testified in a raspy drawl."

OK, I think I hate that I am playing around with this shit and it actually is improving with better prompting? And I have no idea what I'm doing, all I think I did was prompt it a second time to write a Weird Al song. This...is not horrible and could reasonably be song to the tune of the song?
New prompt just says write a weird al song for me? Output can much more closely be song to the original tune of Buck Cherry's song Lit Up (I called Cocaine by mistake originally). Regardless, lyrics can kinda be song to the tune:

(Intro)
Oh yeah!
Check the PSI!
Come on, yeah!
(Verse 1)
I’m at the store for propane
And yes, I’m fired up again
Brush the grate, and hydrate
My mama said eating raw is sin
(Chorus)
And yes, I’m fired up again
With the ribs, and the hen
And yes, I’m fired up again, frying
I got the propane, I got the propane
Mama, grab a plate; mama, grab a plate, yeah!

PSUbowler @psubowler.bsky.social · 23/12/2025
This is just an utter failure right here, I'll tell you that right now.
GeminiAI prompt that readswrite the lyrics to a weird Al style song using buck cherry's song Cocaine as the base but change the chorus to "I got the propane, I got the propane". The resulting output could not possibly be song to the tune of the original buck cherry song. Output:

(Verse 1)
I’m pulling up the truck to the patio door
I got a hunger that I never felt before
The neighbors are coming, they’re bringing the meat
I’m the only guy who’s gonna make 'em all eat
I’m checking the knobs and I’m checking the seal
I’m making a deal for a three-course meal
The igniter is clicking, it’s starting to glow
Open up the vents and let the oxygen flow!
(Chorus)
I got the propane!
I got the propane!
I got the propane!
I got the propane!

This one made me giggle.
screenshot from reddit, text reads: Klingons: okay we don't get it

Vulcan science academy: what what?

Klingons: You Vulcans are a bunch of stuffy prisses but you're also tougher, stronger, and smarter than humans in every single way. Why do you let them run your Federation?

VSA: Look. This is a species where if you give them two warp cores, they don't do experiments on one and save the other for if the first one blows up. This is a species where if you give them two warp cores, they will ask for a third one, immediately plug all three into each other, punch a hole into an alternate universe where humans subscribe to an even more destructive ideological system, fight everyone in it because they're offended by that, steal their warp cores, plug those together, punch their way back here, then try to turn a nearby star into a torus because that was what their initial scientific experiment was for and they didn't want to waste a trip.

VSA: They did that last week, we have the write-up righthere. It's getting published in about six hundred scientific journals across two hundred different disciplines because of how many established theories their ridiculous little experiment has just called into question. Also, they did turn that sun into a torus, and no one actually knows how.

VSA: This is why we let them do whatever the hell they wnat.

Klingons: Can we be a part of your Federation?
