#Founders, #builders, #tech #enthusiasts. Wonder how AI is currently changing the startup landscape in real life and virtually? I went to 30+ tech events the past 3 months trying to understand what's changing: substack.com/home/post/p-...

We hear plenty of success stories from #founders who made it. Not enough from those in the thick of it right now. That's what #BuiltHere is. Episode 01 drops March 31 with Trndzy. 👀 Follow along for an honest look at building from the ground up.

The IRL use cases are wild. People are using #OpenClaw to: 1. Negotiate $4k off a car over email while sleeping 2. Execute continuous crypto trades 3. Cleaning your house You can even voice-note it on WhatsApp, and it executes the command on your local Mac.

What is #OpenClaw's superpower? It lives in your background and accesses your local files. Because it builds a permanent profile on your hardware, it bypasses the context window amnesia of browser AI. It actually remembers the messy nuances of your projects.

Imagine waking up and seeing your #OpenClaw AI already checked your inbox, saw an upset client, and drafted a reply for your review. It replaces deterministic workflows (like #Zapier or #N8N) by figuring out the step-by-step logic all on its own.

Tool of the Week: OpenClaw What is it? It’s an open-source autonomous AI assistant that runs locally on your computer. But unlike standard chatbots, it’s PROACTIVE, not reactive. You don't have to manually set the workflows but it anticipates your needs and executes automatic workflows.

Feeling behind on AI? You're not alone. The secret is understanding more than the systems. Case in point: #OpenClaw. It’s the wildest AI agent right now, acting as your new employee and your biggest security risk.

You have the idea. You might even have the prototype. But do you have a starting line? The early stages of a business are often the most overwhelming. I’m sharing the framework I use to cut through the noise and focus on what actually moves the needle. #BusinessGrowth #Strategy #StartupLife

Building in secret and hoping for a big bang when it's launch is over.  It's a saturated market, & #startups are pretty much indistinguishable with each other.  The most successful brands now have to sell both the products and build relationships. How? Start by sharing your BTS.

BioRender co-founder Ryan Marien answered some good questions: How do you build something people really want? Ryan’s 3 constants: Talk to users (Constant feedback) Build product (Non-stop iteration) Stay healthy (Founder + Co health) BioRender even uses NPS to measure company health.

At the #TechTO #TogetherYC event, BioRender co-founder Ryan Marien got real about the Canadian Problem. The friction in Canada is cultural. Institutions are scared of the unknown. Founders hide ideas fearing theft. In #SF, you talk constantly. Because the faster you talk, the faster you exit.

Paola Santiago @psproductperson.bsky.social · 07/02/2026
Stop waiting for perfection. The point of beta testing is to fail fast and iterate.  By showing a glimpse of your prototype now, you’re testing feature and building a waiting list before you launch. “It’s not perfect yet.” That’s the point. #MVP #ProductManagement

#YC is investing in #CanadianStartups again: "After hearing feedback from Canadian founders in our network, we’ve decided to add Canada back to our list of accepted countries of incorporation. Going forward, #YC will once again invest in #US, #Canada, #Cayman, and #Singapore corporations."
000
Paola Santiago @psproductperson.bsky.social · 05/02/2026
For deep tech, #YC isn't one-size-fits-all. Myra notes that 3 months isn't enough for R&D. Demo Day becomes a warm-up, not a close. Plus, the opportunity cost is real: Incorporating in #Delaware might mean losing valuable #Canadian grants and university support.   You have to weigh your options.

Paola Santiago @psproductperson.bsky.social · 05/02/2026
What about #hardtech going the traditional VC route?  Myra Arshad (ALT TEX) shares her #YC story. Hard tech milestones aren't as flashy as software, you can't ship a feature overnight. The challenge? Learning to communicate scientific progress as business traction.

"I don’t want anyone stealing my idea." Ideas are easy to replicate. People? No.  Secrecy loses you a network and signals low confidence to investors. Your only sustainable moat is the trust you build with your users, a community. #BuildInPublic #Startups #GTM

During the #TechTO talk, one of the key topics was cultural differences: People in Toronto are very risk-averse. People are scared to talk about their startup idea, thinking people are gonna be scared, people are gonna take their idea. But that's only stopping them from being successful.

Paola Santiago @psproductperson.bsky.social · 03/02/2026
Last week, #YCombinator officially stated it would no longer invest in Canadian startups. This week #TechTO hosted an event with the Canadian #YC alumni, and let's see what they say: 1. Don't let this discourage you. 2. Founders flip to US entity anyway 3. You can still operate in Canada

AI is disrupting the ecommerce industry. But let's dive on what exactly are they changing in customer journey and the billions of dollars of psychological tactics invested in it. And what better way to exemplify it than with the Amazon and Perplexity battle. open.substack.com/pub/psproduc...

Amazon vs. Perplexity is the first major legal test of autonomous AI agents in commerce.  If AI agents bypass the curated(read: ad-heavy) shopping experience, Amazon loses its grip on consumer data and impulse buys. #AI #Tech #Amazon #Perplexity #OpenWeb

Another tidbit on AI & E-commerce: You need AI inside your e-commerce site. If users leave to ask about shipping, materials, or policies in another tab in ChatGPT, you’ve already lost them. AI needs to sit in the middle of the journey. #productmanagement #ecommerce #AI

AI is taking control of the buying UX journey, and it’s reshaping the e-commerce world whether you like it or not. 1. If the customer buys your sunglasses but never touches your website, then your site traffic & basket size decrease, and you can’t upsell your high-margin products

I asked Gen Z one simple question: Why did you stop using Google? “F #Google.” “#Bing has #ChatGPT.” “I just use #Reddit or TikTok now.” It reveals a deeper shift: People expect more than search results. They also want platforms that align with their values, authenticity, & community.

More people are jumping between platforms to get answers. They are seamlessly transitioning between Google, ChatGPT, Reddit and TikTok. It just depends on what gets them there the fastest & most convenient way. Google is becoming just one of the many options. open.substack.com/pub/sixpeas/...
