In Scotland, they sell this item. No, I did not try it — they weren't handing out samples!

#eclipse From Calton Hill, Edinburgh, Scotland. The clouds kept on covering the sun and then clearing. We gave eclipse glasses to adjacent groups of people (I had bought a 12 pack from Amazon. 10 got delivered, and the rest got distributed.)
A thin crescent of sun masked by the moon. Some cloud makes the edge not as crisp as it ought to be.

My line voltage today has a nasty dip in it. The lights in my home office dimmed noticeably for a while.
Graph showing line voltage drooping to 117 volts for an hour or so, and then dropping to 112 for 5 minutes, and then recovering to 121

I just don't understand. I ordered a tree from Lowes. It shipped from Tennessee by Fedex 2Day. The retail price of the shipping was ~$760. My tree cost me ~$62 with free shipping. Someone is getting a raw deal here and it wasn't me! Tree looks healthy and undamaged.

Which hose manufacturer makes a hose with this profile? This makes the hose effectively unrepairable (even if you try and cut off the wart -- you can't get it to be watertight). Built-in obsolescence. Grrrrr.

Got a couple of old disposable cameras developed. This was an early attempt by my daughter to take a mirror selfie. Her modern work is*much* better!

Or -- from #PSKReporter. I'm somewhat surprised by the FlightRadar display as it is showing some shadow in the north and the south at noon.

Trying Google's Gemini image tool to colorize old pictures: Starting with the black and white image, and then two different colorization attempts. It is notable that it omitted the person in one case, also the steam blowing downards in both. Original was probably shot on orthochromatic film.

It should be working now... The errors have dropped off. The chart is in EST. Many thanks to the @sentry.io team for the monitoring.

I found this one today -- designed by a genius who wanted to keep the control handle clean so the water actually pours onto it. I guess this design is called 'Single Auto Cleaning Control Lever with Sink Surround Sprinkling Feature'.

I met one of these in Bangkok, and it took a fair amount of hand waving and dancing before I figured it out.

This museum (www.railwaymuseum.org.uk) is my favourite museum (with the Science Museum being a close second). This is the Stirling Single No 1 -- and there is now a very nice model in OO gauge (from Rapido) which I own. You should spend the entire day here exploring these glorious machines.
